I just stumbled across a website that compares over 450 money transfer services, so that you can find the best deal. I have not used the service yet but would be interested to know your thoughts...

Impressive Howerd, I wonder how they make money from the site?

Lots of pretty accurate and honest information particularly in the Blogs!

I think their income comes from referrals though not every link is a referral link. I have signed up for the cheapest (LycaRemit) and there was no referral link for that one. Incidentally, I found the advert for Tawi Pay when reading an article on a rare alignment of planets this month, which will be visible from The Philippines.

Hi, my name is François and I co-founded TawiPay. I stumbled upon your discussion and signed up to thank you for mentioning our service. We built it out of frustrations after paying super high money transfer fees for decades, so I'm glad it can be of help for the Bristish-filipino.com community. Let me answer some of your interrogations, but don't hesitate to ask here more questions regarding international money transfers to the Philippines, I'd be glad to help you.

That's right, some of the links on our comparison engine are affiliate links. You can read more about it on our FAQ: https://www.tawipay.com/en/us/faq But it is important to note that:
    1) you'll never be charged additional fees because of TawiPay (in facts, we often negotiate special deals for our users)
    2) our information is unbiased and independent and will always be. That's our pledge to our users.

Anyway, glad it helped and, really, don't hesitate to ask me any questions related to money transfers.

    Best,
    François

Very interesting and well designed website.

Just personal comments - will never ever use WU again as my identity was used for what was clearly a couple of bogus transactions and they took no action when I reported this to them - clearly their system was not secure and had been hacked.

Have been very happy with World Remit to the Philippines and I am happy to pay a little more for their excellent security and high standard of service.

I sometimes send money to Cambodia - Money Gram operate UK/ Cambodia (and are not very good!) but they are not on your list.

    Thanks!

Yes, we do not compare money transfers between these two countries... yet! Don't hesitate to provide us you email adress on this page so that we can inform you when it's the case: https://www.tawipay.com/en/us/send-money-from-united-kingdom-to-cambodia-gbr-khm

I've made some manual comparison and here is what I found:
    - Xendpay offers very affordable money transfers to Cambodia but the recipient will be receiving USD.
    - Azimo can send Airtime top-ups (money sent as top-ups for a prepaid phone)

@François It appears your company operates from Switzerland so you may not be aware of the website www.moneysavingexpert.com in the UK. You may want (with the site owner's permission only) to make your service known to Money Saving Expert members on their forum.

One quick improvement you could make is to allow the amount in the target currency to be specified instead of the source currency, i.e. I want my family to receive 50,000 PHP from me this month how much will this cost me in GBP from each provider.

That way round is more often useful to me as I will bear the exchange rate fluctuation rather than my family having to suffer a reduction in what they receive.

Having both options for evaluating providers would be best.

Thanks for the feedback! Not that quick (its more complex than what we think), but you're right: it makes sense. We'll dig into that

    I'm a developer, ya want a hand ;) :D

Only joking I'm up to my eyeballs with stuff right now, but it would be a nice addition to the site and would have been useful to me today.

Damn I missed it and I was walking to work this morning before dawn although is was still a little grey here, but it is available for several weeks so I will turn round on my walk to work to try to see this, I had noticed a couple of planets recently but just thought it was the usual Jupiter Mars pair.

Visible to the south east before dawn. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-35362733

Ermm... you have managed to reply on the wrong thread I think?

If Western Union gave you 13520 peso for £100 then you are on a freaking winner :D if they gave you 135.204 peso then you are not on Western Union's real web site mate and you have been robbed by an internet fraudster.
