I think that's how certain comments were made in the Swindon online rag.

They chose a business that is highly and strictly regulated by government agencies to protect Filipino`s from foreign unscrupulous employers.
Add to that a couple of disgruntled employees and you have a recipe for disaster.
Even if they say that they were not involved in direct hiring etc,if the employees say they were then thats enough to have them locked up on remand.
Personally I wouldn't touch a business like that here with a triple length barge pole.

Nothing is 100% safe especially for a foreigner in Pinas.

A Web Agency, i.e. consulting business that provides SEO and development services for large businesses like Smart, SM, PLDT and the likes of the big Banks, my friend worked for one and has started his own UX business (user experience 'UX') and is doing very well at it.

In other words if your customer base is in dealing with large proper corporations they are more likely to behave like proper businesses.

If you are dealing in a business that interacts with the public then that is another matter altogether as you are open to any chismis and allegations that anyone cares to throw at you for any reason even petty jealousy.

So B2B is the preferred route if possible. :like:

It would be for me, but it requires good extensive ground knowledge and contacts in country and that is the hard bit when you are trying to establish a business.

My young British friends who started up the UX company over there had worked in a web agency in Manila for about seven years before they set out on their own.

And the guy that set up the web agency they used to worked for originally had help from UK based investors back in late 1999 when he started out, with his first contracts being with UK and French based companies.

With that initial support from the UK he was given enough time to work the local B2B scene, you have to admire folk that have the determination to do that and particularly to stick at it and succeed, 17 years now since Seb started his business over there.

He went to the local Uni got 3 recently qualified php developers and set up shop doing projects mostly for < $500 for mainly Italian customers. It was way to earn his keep whilst enjoying the delights of Phils. He was enjoying life from what i seen.

Can I ask help from you guys, I feel like billy no mates at the moment, trying to raise funds to marry Charlene and register the kids. Funds going slow, if any one can spare a fiver or more, even to pass the web address on would be a help. I'm not good at asking help so please bear with me friends. With thanks Kevin.

You need to go to see the housing department at your local council offices... as soon as possible. Also seek (free) help from your local C.A.B. (Citizens Advice Bureau). Good luck.

Don't you have family there who could help, Charlene ?

Have you thought of contacting the staff of Raffy Tulfo about you and your partner's predicament ?

I don't know where they are....im afraid me and my children will sleep on the streets. I can't visit Kevin to tell him about this as I got no fare going there... last week my children and I been evacuated due to the typhoon so I've lost most of my things...then suddenly I was told that we have until 20th in the house. I got nothing on me...the landlord asking me to pay for the deposit of 10kph but we're will I get it in a short notice....I just barely afford to buy food for the children...I've used my money sorting out Kevin and his deportation....I've messaged his family but no response from anyone. I felt left out and I'm dying of worries for the children. Please help me...I'm begging you. I can't let the children sleep in the street...I called embassy but since we haven't registered yet the children as British they can't help me.please help
