I have to report, following what was really quite an exhaustive investigation, that "Marks and Spencer are the best for underwear". K is happy to concur with HRH The Princess Royal on this.

What's with the headline of this topic? Since when were the Filipino inhabitants of the UK exclusively female? Do the tens of thousands of male Filipinos in the UK never go shopping?

I started the thread; I agree that the title isn't too clever.*

It was intended to help Filipinas who have recently arrived in Britain with shopping for clothes. It seems from some of the comments that it succeeds, to some extent anyway.

    * It does not contain advice on "how to buy a Filipina", either !

I'd be interested to know what the sex ratio is here. I wouldn't know where to look to try to find out though or how accurate the stats would be. I read someplace that in Australia it's 65% female which might not sound all that much, but is in fact a hugely one-sided sex ratio.

    Personally I like M&S underwear.
    Bit too rich price-wise here.
My wife was a big fan of La Senza
Also a bit too rich price-wise here.

My wife wants to go to Abercrombie in London because she wants to get some jeans there and because The Beatles played on the roof.

She's doesn't like Marks and Spencer here. Apparently in The Philippines M&S ids fashionable and for young people. When she came here she wanted to go in it, but was surprised to see the style of clothes in there.

Can't beat M&S for boxer shorts though.

Your missus probably likes Blue Harbor jeans and tops which are available for men and women. They are as common as dirt in the overseas M&S stores but you may need to go to one of the larger branches in the UK - say the Oxford Street store (near junction of Banker Street).

I agree, Blue Harbor clothes are quite fashionable and mid range quality, I have quite a few Blue Harbor clothes which are available at the local M&S.

As others have mentioned, M&S isn't quite as fashionable and popular as it once was, I'm not sure its a shop for the younger or more fashion conscious Filipina, a must for underwear of course but that goes without saying :)

I can't ever remember my wife buying clothes in M&S
I can remember her buying plenty of food there though.

I bought quite a lot of clothes from M&S. Mainly because the sizes were almost perfect for me.
Jacket length and sleeve length were the best by far for me.

I really liked the trousers with expandable waistband :D

Amongst K's first purchases in the UK were a winter jacket, warm pyjamas and dressing gown from M&S.

Funny thing but I always get a shopping list from my wife when I return to the UK and without fail top of the list is UK panties, not just for my wife, but for mama (mother in law) also. I get some very strange looks when I go to the checkout armed with a 6 pack of size 8 bikini style & a 6 pack of size 14 belly warmers hahaha

Yes mama lives with us since her place burnt to the ground some years ago, but she is a real treasure and I wouldn't have it any other way :)
