    Hi everyone,

We decided to take the UK Fiancee visa route instead of spouse visa.
As we're both staying in Thailand right now, it will be easier for us and cheaper to get married in UK.

I just want to clarify, is it not possible for me to apply the visa at VFS Global Thailand?

Is there anyone here who had the same experience? :)

We communicate through fb messenger and I downloaded our messages through the download data link on FB.
I used Excel to edit the file. We have more than 100k+ messages on FB and it will be a waste to print them all so I removed messages and kept the time stamps. I was able to narrow it down to around 300 pages printed 2 sides. I find it easier to do this than select few messages from certain period.

I'm still thinking 300 pages are a lot and will look for ways to reduce it. Any advise? :)

Is there anyone who submitted time stamp chat logs with more than 300 pages? -_-"

Am I right in thinking that they only need proof of constant communication and time stamps will be sufficient?
I'm also planning to include few pages with screenshots of our conversation and photos from FB and instagram.

And I was just thinking, is it okay to book bind our proof?
It will be easier for them to flip on the pages and we can also keep it as our memoir (will they return it after?). :)

Thank you all in advance! :)

I just want to give update. I've experienced how hard it is to get information from internet with the same situation. My fiance works in oil & gas company and works 5 weeks in Saudi then spends 5 weeks in Thailand. He has been non resident for 9 years thus not paying any UK tax but he's on a UK contract.

On the otherhand I used to work in Thailand as a teacher then after my work permit was cancelled, I applied for a student visa.

So I'm a Filipina living in Thailand on student visa while my partner is a non resident British that lives in Thailand on tourist visa.

I'd like to write that it is possible to get a UK fiancee visa for a filipina here in Thailand as long as you have enough time on your Thai visa for the processing. It is best to have at least 3 months. And it doesn't matter if your partner is non resident as long as can meet the financial requirements. We used the salary route and made sure to highlight the salary on his bank statement & payslips.

Like what has been posted here it is best to organize your documents. Though I've read a lot not to use folders & plastic wallets, I still used them for my UK fiancee visa application. But I made sure that 1 plastic wallet holds just 2 pieces of paper so they will just flip the pages and doesn't have to pull out the documents. I used the plastic wallets with binder for the original set & just cling wrapped the photocopies.

I also had my A1 Life Skills & Tuberculosis tests done in the accredited centers in Bangkok.

I scheduled my biometrics last 22nd of January at 10am but went earlier. I was there around 9am and able to finish before 10am. I was told it will take 3-4months for the result and got me worried coz my visa only covers 3 months. But after almost just a week, on 1st of February I received an email that a decision has been made. Then after that an email that the processed application has been received. It is so fast, we already prepared ourselves that they denied our application, but after collecting my passport, we're the happiest!

Now, another intensive research on things to do when we get there. This site has been really helpful! Thank you!

Hello again y'all! I've been visiting this site again past few days for my FLR (M) application. I've learned a lot from here and it guided my application a lot! Shout out for the thread about not paying the NHS separately from the premium service, membership on various stores for correspondence, and photocopying the originals I want to keep.

I arrived in the UK this April with my fiancee visa and recently got married early this month. We opt for the premium service in Glasgow. One day process is more convenient for us than waiting long.

These are the documents we submitted:

    Cover letter from my husband
    Appointment letter
    FLR (M) form
    Our passports
    Our birth certificates
    Passport photos
    Marriage certificate
    IELTS certificate
    Husband's letter of employment
    P60
    6 months payslips
    6 months bank statements
    Wedding pictures
    3 joint correspondence
    (Bank, council tax, dvla)
*I just requested a driver's license application form online and had it sent to both our names free of charge
6 other letters from utility bills and store memberships for each of us

    Home inspection report
    Solicitor's letter for mortgage
*I only added this since we changed our UK address from my previous fiancee visa application

It's 2 hours drive from our home to Glasgow. We parked at the Glasgow Science Centre and just walked to the premium service centre (As I've read that lots are worried about parking), just around 10mins walk. They gave us a number and we just waited for the number to be called. After 5 mins, we're called and we just submitted the documents to the officer. He checked it a bit and asked us to wait for biometrics and told us that the process usually takes 2.5hours depending on our case. So we just waited again for the biometrics. After half an hour our number was called again for my biometrics. The process took only 3minutes then we're back to waiting. After exactly 2.5hours our number was called again. It says on the electronic board that it's ready for collection. The officer congratulated us for the 30months visa and told me I can already start a job. BRP will be posted after 7-10 working days.

It's a nice day! Drinks tonight!

This site is really helpful! Thank you very much!

It’s that time again to apply for visa. This time, my 2nd FLR (M) extension. Time indeed flies fast! We missed the £500 IHS by 5 days!

I’ve been reading again here as I find it really helpful! We’ve already booked a date for submitting documents.

I’m hoping someone can check if I’m missing anything.

    Passports - (both)
    Marriage Certificate
    Birth Certificates - (both)
    IELTS A2 Certificate
    Employment Letters - (both)
Payslips for 12 months - (both)
    P60 2018 - (both)
    Solicitors Letter - house
    Mortgage Statement - house
Council Tax Bills - 2016-2018 (both names)

    Correspondence
July 2017 Bank of Scotland letter - (both names)
June 2018 Bank of Scotland letter - (both names)
    May 2016 Electoral letter - (partner’s name)
    November 2016 Halifax letter - (partner’s name)
January 2017 Bank of Scotland letter - (partner’s name)
    October 2017 Halifax letter - (partner’s name)
April 2018 Financial Service letter - (partner’s name)
July 2018 Black Horse letter - (partner’s name)
August 2016 Angus Council letter - (my name)
November 2016 Bank of Scotland - (my name)
January 2017 DVLA letter - (my name)
April 2017 Pension letter - (my name)
TV Licence 2016-2018 - (my name)
June 2018 NHS letter - (my name)
    November 2018 M&S bank - (my name)

I’m still waiting for bank statement to come that covers 12 months. In case it doesn’t come on time is it possible to just download online statements and print it? The branch said they can only provide 3 months statement and the rest have to be ordered online.

Do I need to provide any photos of our life together or will the correspondence be enough?

The checklist didn’t mention any passport photos...

And do I need to photocopy a set??? Or not anymore since everything’s scanned on the new website?

    Thanks in advance!
