Anyone here that can help me work as a nanny or housekeeper in London or anyone looking for a nanny/housekeeper?
Hey That's where my Fiance bought a house and we will be there hopefully in December. I could be a baby sitter once in a while but I have a son and I'm afraid working is not allowed for a fiancé visa.
I recommend that you don't. Anyone who employs you as a nanny or childminder in their home is responsible for ensuring that certain employment obligations are met, including that the correct tax is paid. Since you are not able to work in any capacity, that is not a possibility, meaning that at least one of you would technically acting illegally (unless you were babysitting for free). Secondly, you would not have insurance. Your situation would become very uncomfortable if there were to be an accident to the child whilst in your care.
@ChoiAndJohn Don't take what I said seriously. I know working isn't allowed with a Fiance visa but soon as I get married, I will find a job matching my skills. But while jobless (after the wedding) being a part time baby sitter would be fine with me. Better than no income at all.
no--not till you get married AND she applies for Further Leave to Remain---and gets her BRP. then she gets a national insurance number and can then work. coming here on a fiancee visa means getting 1st FLR within 6 months of the settlement visa start date--NOT date she arrives OR gets married. then 2nd FLR after 30 months. FLR fee is £993--each time. plus IHS fee -£550 ( ? ) each time.
I agree with most of the above but mention that it is possible to start work without a national insurance number. A temporary one will be created. You also don't need one if your income is below 157 per week.
It is all very nice with lots of useful info for some, but what we seem to forget is that we are not an employment or work placement site, and therefore we cannot advertise jobs or jobs offers or even request for jobs........ Please, interested parties, will have to arrange any agreement between themselves in private, and preferably not on here. Thank you.
This is a very old thread Dom, the OP asked this question 16 months ago, we missed the boat on this particular message a wee bit
