I soo like that. I also wanted to apply an LDR theme in ours. Hopefully I'd get the time and chance to DIY than wander UK. :)

There's a lot of outlet stores here that sell wedding gowns and they are inexpensive. Majority of the gowns are made by famous designers but they are sold on a super discounted price because they're from older collections. I know someone who got hers for 200 quid which I think is very reasonable. You can't beat Divisoria price but make sure you buy something that is already made or really know someone who makes them. I've heard of horror stories of women who had their wedding gowns made in Divisoria and the ones delivered to them are far too different from what they ordered or had in mind.

I too didn't have any bridesmaids but I asked my mom, sisters, mum in law to walk before me. Of course they said yes!

Jeez. I am not marrying the prince to get that expensive gown! lol
I think getting one here tailor made is better than shopping online in UK.

I have 3 months to meet family and friends of my fiancé before the wedding so if I find someone I'd love to be a bridesmaid, might do. But I might ask her sister to be one. That 200 quid is tempting. If I don't find time to find my gown here, then I have hope.

What about the ceremony? How is it different than Ph weddings?

We bought those frames in The Range and turned them into DIY for our table plan and hang some of our pics together.

The Groom doesn't have to wear one of those horrible long shirts.........unless he wants to :)

Ceremony is definitely a lot shorter. We were given a wedding ceremony checklist and we got to choose what we want to say and the flow of the ceremony. As it is a civil wedding, we weren't allowed any mention of anything religious. So we had to email them our personal vows so they can check if we are in violation of that. Reception is very similar. We made our own program, how we wanted it to flow. So it was very personal.

Never ever shop online for your wedding gown! There's tons of online shops that would show you original designs for quite a cheap price but they're very misleading. They will let you think you are getting the original design but they will just copy it. But their imitation is nothing close to that in the picture. Check online for boutiques and outlet stores that are near where you guys will live. I am sure there are lots in there.

are you referring to Barong Tagalog? When we get married in Ph I will ask him to wear that and have it Filipino themed. I've never heard him say yes to that.

I agree. they are imitations and terribly made compared to those in the pictures. The only things I am afraid of is once I'd fly to UK, there's no chance to purchase the gown here. I gotta take a look around here. Do you have idea how much wedding gowns in Manila costs like? Let's say from a random shop, not divisoria.

Our wedding cake! Please ignore the placement of the PH flag. She didn't know that if the red is on top it meant war (bless her soul) lol! I just say the luggage was placed the wrong way ;) We saved the top tier for us and took us a month to finish it haha!

Did you also have an evening party? When I look at real weddings online, I wonder when they do the photographs around the venue. Is it after the ceremony and before the breakfast?

I like that very much indeed.

And for future reference the Union Jack should be flown a certain way up.

Is there any reason you didn't go for a church wedding?

I didn't know that! We weren't too fussed about the details of the cake because it was amazing as it is and tasted so good.
