The outreach program is fantastic, although one or two have mentioned on the forum that the Embassy is slow at answering their emails regarding renewal of passports at the outreach.
This is a different topic. I just want to know when am I going to apply for a new BRP for the change of name,is it after I received my new passport or right after I apply for renewal? Thanks
You can change your name on the BRP as soon as you are married, I think it costs £180. According to the link below you should change the name as soon as you are married. https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp/youre-in-the-uk-and-have-a-brp
We still haven't changed the name on the BRP, I forgot all about it and now its too late really. (2 years since we married). Its our second FLR(M) in a few months and I'm hoping they just let the matter go, on the link above that I posted it says you can be fined a £1000 and have your stay shortened for not informing the UKVI of a change in circumstances. We will see what happens, I intend to plead complete and utter ignorance
I understand that the name in my passport and BRP should be the same. But since I am going to change my name in my passport(Maiden Name to Married Name),I should also change my name in my BRP.Do I need to wait till my new passport with my Married Name processed then applied for change of name in BRP?
You'd be fine doing that, bear in mind it does say that all changes should be notified within three months so just bear that in mind, you are right, the passport should match the BRP that is the main thing, understandably so.
