You can go and legally watch a brand new movie in an SM Cinema in the malls in the Phils for about 200 peso or three quid, it was a lot less than that a few years ago and not just because of the exchange rate, if the studios, distributors and cinema's can get by on those kind of margins compared to what they charge us in the west how come Netflix and the likes cost basically the same in the Phils as it does here but with a vastly reduced library of content, they won't make progress in these countries with unrealistic pricing for those markets.
I haven't the slightest clue what you are on about mate.. Cant watch much on our LTE connection anyway as we have a data cap to worry about..The kids use most of my data on their damned phones.. TGT and Gold rush...That`s about it for me. Anyway..The guys on TGT F.B group told my son that Amazon prime account is not available in the R.P..
Yeah but that's for the older movies (a few months old) that have been ripped as high quality DVD copies, if you wanted the Star Wars Rogue One movie just now you'd get something that was out of focus lousy sound with folk's heid's prancing along the bottom of the screen as they make mad dash to the CR. Of the few that I've watched two or three minutes of, I could have sworn some were probably ripped on a camcorder in the Phils
One of my Brit guests reckons he has 800 movies on his external hard drive... Says he will stick em all on my sons laptop!! That`ll save me taking the kids to the movies for a few years!!
a few years back i got into pirate downloading. ive got about 100 films on a hard drive. the few i did watch were a waste of time--either bad copies or trash i wouldnt watch for free anyway.
Why can't we pay to watch a single game of football, sky and now tv gives you the option but only if you pay to watch monthly, weekly or 24 hours. I'm not interested in movies or TV episodes, soaps and all that crap. Okay I can fork out around £50 or £60 to watch one game if I went to a live game, but time has caught up with me.
The malls here in the boonies charge 100.00 Peso for 2D movie entrance and 150.00 for 3D. just as well..It`s all us peasants can afford.
This mouthy little brat says you can watch live football anywhere free.. You dont see the Brits over here on this little desolate island missing any of their football and they aint forking out 50/60 Quid either!!
For football theres an excellent Android app called "Football Match Live" icon is a blue ball with flames on a black background. All I will say is its well worth the download
My account is based in a UAE and hence I am aware of the geographical limitations. TGT is available globally on Amazon.
TGT is available globally on Amazon. I don't know anything about the internet service provided here in my rental apartment, other than the fact that it is often very slow. Most of the time it is OK for watching Netflix and TGT on Amazon, albeit in SD.
I'm still a bit confused as Amazon does not have an official UAE site, at least as far as I am aware? I know that people can shop on Amazon and get stuff delivered to UAE but they don't have warehousing and logistics in the country do they?
We just watched the latest Star Wars movie at a local cinema in the UK for £2.50. 150 php at the current exchange rate. Netflix is available for 370 Php (£6) per month. Netflix is mostly about TV shows rather than movies. Netflix doesn't "mind" you sharing your account with "family" members - so for 460 PhP a month (£7.50) you could easily share with a family member or two and have HD content. You are right, those prices are the same, and yes, there is less content than in the US. However, the major shows, Narcos, Orange is the New Black, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, DANGER MOUSE (come on, it's worth it just for this!!). https://www.finder.com/ph/netflix-tv-shows In January, the report was that only 7% of content available in the US was available in the PH. However, in the Philippines you had some extra content (all of the Lord of the Rings trilogy). Also, it needs to be appreciated that Netflix is in its infancy out there. I seem to remember that UK content was very patchy compared to the US in the initial stages. A Big Mac meal in the Phils costs 250 PhP. It's virtually the same price in the UK (not that I eat that food). That's how these "global" companies operate. I had to buy a belt in Debenham's in one shopping mall out there, and it was £30.
The Sky model is outdated. Ideally, it should be pay as you view. i.e. You watch an old sitcom on UK Gold and get charged 25p, but if you watch the latest movie, you get charged £2. If you watch a football match £5 etc etc. With Sky you pay for a load of stuff that you will never ever watch. We still have Sky for the football and movies (yes, I can get it free - I will never do that. The Spyware that infects a device watching those streams is crazy). But, Netflix is worth every penny.
