Well my Mrs has used them a good few times and she rates them that's why I booked with them plus it's non stop from Heathrow.

If you want non stop to manilla it's fine. Certainly not the best or most comfortable flight but it gets you there direct.
It's the only airline I have flown with to get there but many others use different airlines with few hours stop overs arriving at either manilla or other airports on the islands.

Emirates, Etihad, or Qatar for me. Can fly from Manchester too.

New planes... no kickstarting required. Cheapest prices with quality service and short journey times. :like:

    I go 3 or 4 times a year.

If you want cheap fare and uncomfortable, PAL is okay! But remember PAL stand for Plane Always Late! :p So don't expect accuracy with their time.

Are they even cheap now though ???

I recommend doing a search on Skyscanner.

For instance, Qatar are less than £400 return at the moment, including to Clark in Pampanga, if you're heading up that way.

I'm very tempted to book my November flight with them right now... £372 return, direct through the airline, to Clark Airport. 16 hour total journey time from Manchester. :)

Not wishing to nitpick but.........Emirates is the airline of Dubai, Etihad is the national carrier based in Abu Dhabi. Both good airlines.

Nothing is certain at the moment when it comes to what happens regarding UK post-Brexit so people need to watch closely with the development. I suggest you bring the spouse as soon as you can before before it comes in force.

Family Permits will probably cease to be available once the UK finally leaves the EU. The status of Britons living elsewhere in the EU I expect to remain unchanged - just as EU citizens would continue to be able to live in Britain - but their ability to obtain visas for third-country family members would, I believe, cease. That is what the government says it wants but there are 27 other nations that need to agree (and it is in their citizens' interests that they do so).

I am hoping that the UK Government concentrates any new immigration rules on the people from the EU after Brexit and leaves us alone for a while :)

    Time will tell.

You have another couple of years before you need to worry, even then it is hard to see how they can make the process more difficult for us, they can put the cost of the visa up of course but that will not deter anyone.

They could of course higher the financial requirement, the independent body that advised the Government on the financial requirement in 2012 actually advised the Government to make it higher.

The "Surinder Singh Route" will cease to exist with Brexit. The rest is about as clear as Theresa May's ideas.

I fly emirates from Manchester. Turkish also fly through. Its very competitive. I avoid London at all costs due to baggage pick-up on the way back and also cost.

The Government have been wanting to close the SR for some time now.

Do you not have a clear vision of Brexit yet Andrew? :)
