    Hi Everyone

I'm Janine and I am new here in British Filipino.

I need help from anyone here regarding my visa application. My visa is due to end on July and I will be applying soon, but I'm confused about the English Test requirement. I previously had IELTS in Philippines which I used on my previous applications (Fiance and Spouse Visa). I'm wondering if I can use the same test result on my next application?

    Many thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.

It depends on which english test you took at the time of application. If it was A1 level then that is not valid anymore.

The ukvi require a minimum of b1 level so, if you have taken at least b1 or higher, then you can still use that for your application.

    Hi Maley

I took the IELTS General Training in Philippines. My overall band score was 7.0. I'm not sure what is B1 or A1.

    thanks

Who was the test provider? Is it still valid? For visa extension after 2.5 years in the UK you need to at least pass at level A2 and higher. Since you got the General Training I'd suggest you call the UKVI and ask them themselves if they will still accept your English test.

    Hi Brom27

The test provider was Cambridge English. How do I know if I got A2 level?

    hi Joi

Based on the link you've provided, it seems I don't need to take another test. What do you think?

    Thanks

It will say on the certificate what level it is. I think you are good to go if that's level C1. I tried to research if the General Training is still acceptable but can't get a definite answer coz most people got IELTS Life Skills.

IELTS tests for UK Visas and Immigration

IELTS Academic, IELTS General Training and IELTS Life Skills are accepted by the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as proof of English proficiency for those wishing to live, work and study in the UK.

    Hi janine!

Im applying for my flr m as well. I had the same exam as you, it was academic training though.

Did you take any english exam or did you still use the old one?

    Thank you

Case workers don't look at the overall band score. Just your scores in Listening and Speaking. I can't seem to dig up the levels of English proficiency one of the Admins posted a few weeks back. If you're scores are 4.0 and above, then you're good to go with A2 level. :like:
