so if the conservatives get in it seems they will up the minimum income threshold for non eu family members visas!!
We will, therefore, continue to bear down on immigration from outside the European Union. We will increase the earnings thresholds for people wishing to sponsor migrants for family visas. from their manifesto
As a matter of fact, I don't support that particular policy but equally I do believe that immigration should be strictly and fairly controlled.
I am a firm believer of keeping the numbers down. And to that end, any British citizen having lived outside the UK for a certain number of years, perhaps should forego their right to return?
I see. You must be a member of the BNP or heartily embrace the xenophobia characteristic of members of that party. How long would a British citizen be able to live abroad before he loses the right to return, in your view? A couple of weeks? A month? What about Foreign Office staff working and living abroad, or aid workers, or Britons exercising their Freedom of Movement Rights? Or maybe you're just a troll.
And that would include controlling returning expats by removing their right to return - never mind the fact that many expats are liable for and pay taxes to HMRC and/or have family in the UK. Like a typical far right little englander, you just want to pull-up the drawbridge and let no-one in. From the messages you have posted since you joined on Saturday, you appear to have no connection with the Philippines so why are you here?
There you go again, type casting members as usual. Why are you here? From the messages you post your reason for being here is to indulge in contradiction. My wife is from the Philippines.
Citizenship is for life as long as laws are obeyed. That's a nonsense statement you make, though you probably made it just to wind a few people up. My kids have dual citizenship and have never lived in the other country they have citizenship - but they are fully entitled to it and it is a big part of what they are.
Interestingly in some countries, if you take on citizenship overseas then you automatically give up your right to citizenship in the country you have left. I am not advocating that for all. In fact I am not really advocating it all. But Graham, if you get my drift, I would gladly advocate it for one or two special cases.
And there, ladies and gentlemen, you have a master-class in self-contradiction in just three sentences!
