Hello everyone, With a UK Spouse Visa would my Filipino partner entitled to access my GP? Arguably, this would be a drain on UK resources and therefore private health insurance would be required? Does this policy vary across the four UK countries? Presumably, UK rules apply on entry, irrespective of health policy in a devolved nation? Many thanks for your advice.
When she got the spouse visa she would have had to pay an IHS fee. This entitles her to nhs treatment.
Thank you so much. Can you provide a link for the IHS fee please? Anyone with practical experience of how the system works or not?
Even if you get private insurance for her you will still have to pay the IHS fee if you apply for a spouse visa which is for £600.
Yes you can register her with your GP once she comes here on spouse visa. Which reminds me I have to register myself to the GP as well lol.
My wife just had 2 weeks in hospital to have the 3 valves replaced and other 1 repaired and she was not asked any questions, as when go for hospital appointment they ask if have paided the ihs fee.
The good old NHS, good to hear she is recovering deanobeano The wife had her gall bladder removed a few weeks back due to the doctor finding a growth when she had a kidney scan for high blood pressure, you can knock the NHS but not that much in my view.
