Hi all, I am new in the forum was reading some of the thread regarding spouse visa. I wanted to know if anybody here submitted their application last April 2017 and if you have received any updates from vfs or from Sheffield? Timeline of my application I have submitted my application on April 20th Done my Biometrics same day Received a generic e-mail from Sheffield same day but 14.00pm UK time. I have received an email from Sheffield office that they received my supporting documents on May 5th, in that e-mail they said that we haven't paid for postage. After 7 working days my husband received a call and an email that they have taken note that we have paid for the postage and receipt was in the documents provided and the original documents are ready for dispatched. 2 weeks onwards my husband received a parcel from the office containing the documents in sent to Sheffield. We were wondering why they have sent it to our address in London not here in the Philippines. Since then we haven't heard any updates/ status of my application. I was informed by my husband that it will take about 60 days of processing for the standard application before they make a decision. ( hoping it will not be longer than that. ) Now, I am not sure where to start counting the days? Could it be after they received the supporting documents or after the actual lodging of the application and biometrics? I feel that I am in the dark and do not know what's going on with the application. As I am really hoping to be back to my husband this July, seems unlikely. However reading other threads with positive results gives me hope. Thanks, P
Maybe you sent it from your husband's address that's why they send it there. You start counting from the day they received your documents. Decision seems to be taking longer this time because of the changes. Someone here applied last April with priority processing but still don't have the result. Just hold on there. Hope you get the good news soon.
@Brom27 Thanks, it's just the waiting time is longer than usual and the processing too. Well, I'll just hope for the best.
Yes the waiting game is the hardest part. Been there done that. I waited two months till I get the decision and I kept thinking about it all day.
I think everyone undergo the same feeling, specially it is the most crucial period. BTW, what about the CFO was it? I haven't heard of that I just noticed earlier on some threads. Is it really necessary to have it? My marriage cert is in London. Because as I've said earlier the documents were sent at home. Passport not with me obviously and I only got 1 I.d which is also in London. Any advice you can give regarding this matter? Much appreciated.
@MrsDoyle i had my biometric April 19 and until now no news they emailed me April 24 that they receive my application and its ready for consideration but until now no news and my husband just receive my documents back 4 days ago. Im tempted to email then but seeing the reply all those people who sent an email to ukvi theres no point of sending one now. July 13 my exact 60 days i wait till then and hoping for positive result. Good luck to us xxx

@anna yes, I agree that there's no point of getting in touched with the UKVI. But someone suggested that pass 60 days period you can call them to check the matter and open a case why it took so long. I hope our application will not be delayed. Seeing that there are news of backlogs in Sheffield office. Right about the same week for us then. If I received any updates, I'll surely keep you guys posted. Good luck to us☺
Yes CFO is needed. You will have to attend the seminar and get the sticker. You can't leave the Philippines without that. I suggest tell your husband to send back the docs with you if he can.
But I do not have my passport with me. I have read the requirements. I wish in knew about this earlier on. Before I lodge my application. I will try to call the establishment ask queries. Thanks again.
You can take the CFO Seminar/Counseling without your passport, you just need two IDs and other documents to prove relationship. Then go back to get the sticker once you got your visa. I think that's how it works? It's a hassle though, for those who are from the provinces. I was thinking of waiting until I got my visa to do the seminar, but by the looks of it, CFO gets booked up 1-1.5 weeks in advance.
Hello, thought about that too, that is why i ask my husband to post some of my documents and our marriage cert that I think will be possible to use for requirements. Thank you for letting me know.
Hello sorry to butt into this conversation but what is the CFO I'm worrying I've forgotten something important?
once you have applied for--or in fact--received--your visa....you need to attend the seminar at the CFO office. this is to explain about all the wicked ways in the west. you then get a sticker in your passport which allows you to emigrate. its nothing to worry about. costs very little. can be done in manilla or cebu. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/
Hi! Question, did anybody checked their visa4uk account after you lodge your application? I didn't bother to check it after, I thought to log in my account today and check my application form when you click the print button. Was just looking for something. Looked back at the main page and noticed... Travel date: 03 July 2017. Thought to myself...I don't think i put that date as my planned arrival/ proposed flight to UK. Double checked what I put. Said 19 June 2017. Question is what's the travel date for? Confused Thanks
travel date is your preferred travel date. in your case june 19 has gone --so the ukvi will date the visa from the day its approved. you then have to get on the plane within 30 days.
@bigmac Do you mean that the UKVI changed my proposed flight to UK? sorry was just confuse. Probably insignificant. Thanks.
Since you put June 19 as your proposed travel date and it's obviously not feasible now then the UKVI will put the validity of your visa on the day that they make the decision.
