Glass Abatoirs in every town would be a start

Having reared and killed my own Goats Sheep Pigs Chicken and Ducks I think the issue is more the industrial scale and lack off respect and desensitisation of the workers.

    Well done Mike

I've just spent 37 euros on the centre section of a beef fillet. I'm making Beef Wellington. Veganism can wait another week (and probably many more)

I did pass on putting in Foie Gras though.

To each their own, Jim. :)
I have been a non-vegan for most of my life so it would be ridiculous to frown on people who eat things that I now choose not to.
I do however mention that I am vegan as it is a lifestyle decision that is all-encompassing but I don't for one minute think that my views will be of any great interest to anyone here.
I have never felt better and have lost a stone in weight in rapid time so that is where I'm coming from these days.
    Enjoy your nosh ;)

    Thanks Rob.
The vegan foods are mixed with everything else at the moment but I have a feeling there will be a vegan section(s) in the next year or so.

    You beat me to it

All slaughterhouses in England will be fitted with compulsory CCTV under plans to be unveiled on Friday by environment secretary Michael Gove, as part of a series of measures to bolster welfare standards and enforce laws against animal cruelty.

Ive watched the Video and apart from a laugh at around six mins in its a shocking and damiing inditement of the way we treat particularly agricultural livestock.but other animals like the dog in the dumpster Grrr

My meat consumption is at about 30% nowaday's of what was my norm I try to cook from scatch when imnot working 5 out of 7 of my kids are mostly vegan along with about the same number of grand kids

I think in the end scarcity and price will deal with this issue along with enforced regulation and the growing number of folk who happily choose to abstain

That is great that most of your kids are Vegan, Keith.
I have a feeling my kids will be Vegan too as they are copying/eating what Mummy cooks although as they are very young, Mummy takes them for junk food occasionally.

My meat consumption is down and fish fruit and veg up, I think married to a Filipino there is a natural move to fruit and veg, my curries and stir fries use to be meat and veg and fruit now it is fruit veg and meat.
