Hi how is everyone, I'm new to this forum and came here looking for some advice, but also it for a friendly chat. I would like to ask advice from anyone living in the UK, who are in or having a relationship with a filipino and what to do about moving to the UK?
I have been in a online relationship with a wonderful lady from the Philippines for the past 2 years, and everything is going great we talk everyday. Things are going so great that my girlfriend and I are planning to be together and we are trying to make it happen, her dream and desire is to come to the UK to be with me and visit my family, she really want to live and work.
If this the wrong place for me to post some of this then sorry, and I will look around the site, but thank you for any help possible, and I look forward to talk too others on here.

Hi Davedeer78 and :welcome:. Probably the first question you will be asked here is if you have already met your girlfriend yet? I only ask as you say "online relationship". If you haven't met her that will definitely be your first plan of action. :like:

Thanks, for the welcome. I been looking for something like this for ages, and I've try Facebook and everything but nothing, it's lucky how I found this only through google that I did.
I just need advice on how to help my girlfriend to come here in UK, but only in the right way and no law breaking.

I've met her only via online through webcam, and we had correspondence by post, we talk daily using apps such as tango, whatsapps and other such apps on my phone, we've been doing this for 2 years now and we've had no problems. We have not met face to face in public, but I know her really well, I've seen and met family and friends. My gf also seen and met my friends snd family, but only through mobile apps that we use. We trust each other and we've been through a lot in the two years to get to this point where we now want to be together, but I understand what you mean by meeting first.

she could apply for a visit visa to come to the UK. its relatively cheap--about £90

she needs to show she has funds to cover her stay--as well as somewhere to live. but the main thing is good reason to return--say--a job to go back to, property, bank a/c.
many visit visas are refused for the real fear many will overstay--and work illegally. but if it is refused--you get a reason and might be able to overcome it and apply again.

Far easier for you to go there or is she adamant about coming to the UK?

You haven't met, but you 'know her really well' ?

    Don't be ridiculous man.

Why haven't you bothered to meet her yet ?

    Welcome to the forum!

I know at the early stages of relationship, that we want to plan and sort everything out. I would suggest you visit her in ph before you do anything else then evaluate your situation from there. You might want to meet her family or friends etc.

Of course nothing can stop you with applying for a tourist visa for her - just that its more difficult to get. As @bigmac was saying, pay £90 plus strong proof of going returning to ph like a job are the main requirements. Home office is becoming stricter in approving tourist (and even settlement) visa application.

She has many reason to go back if she needs to, but her main goal is to get over here to visit me, while she's here, she going to find out all she needs to live and work here, of course she can't except any work until she has the right too, but surely she's allowed to ask around and look? But only by the honest way, so that there isn't any comeback where she or I could get into any trouble.
She also say that I can send a invition letter, stating that I am inviting her to come and visit, is this true? And what do I say to make it sound right?

At the moment this isn't possible for many reasons, but I haven't ruled it out, but at the moment we are trying to see if this is can work where I can help come here.

We do know each other, and neither if us have hidden anything from each other, I haven't ruled out going to see her, but it just not possible for me right now to go over to meet her, but there is no reason for me to doubt her and she has nothing to doubt me.

I do understand all of this and like I said previously that I haven't ruled out going to visit her in the PH, but right now it's just not possible, but neither have anything to hide and we know nothing is going to be easy, but we will do all we can by the law and somehow we will be together.

Give it a try if you want. The main requirements for getting a touridt visa are the following:
    - the 90£ fee
    - application form (filled up online)
    - 6 month bank statement showing how she can support herself during her stay here
    - accomodation (hotel booking with free cancellation)
    - compelling reason to go back to ph (or origin country) like work or business. I had submitted a letter from my emplpyer statinf how much i earn, how long i've been employed and the approved dates for the holiday.

i also prepared an excel file detailing what i'll be doing in uk and where and how much im planning to spend plus ticket cost and made sure i had around 60% of everything in my bank account and the rest will be covered by my credit card. I applied on my own without any documents from my then boyfriend- i didnt even mention that i have a bf in the uk.

Now if the situation is that you will support her during her stay, then a few addtional documents might be added like an inviation letter and your bank statement. It will also help her case if she has travelled to neighboring countries - to proove that she is not a flight risk.

further to what Maley said... my ( now ) wife was refused a visit visa in early 2013--even though she used a filipine fixer & had lived in the UK as a student before--and returned home within her visa time limit.

she quickly re-applied, correcting the refusal reason ( a banking error ), saying she wanted to visit her sister ( settled here ) and made no mention of me .( we had lived together here in 201).

she was successful--and came over and stayed for the full duration of her visa.

We have talked about me sending an invitation letter, where would I send it? UK or the Phillippines? My gf say I may need to send a photo copy of my passport with 3 signatures is this right or not?

In 201 and what? It didn't say. Is your wife staying with you for good? Like living with you?
