Please consider removing all previous political threads from site and sight and start a fresh with the closed section.

We did consider doing just that, however, moving many threads around will mess up the indexing.

can you not then leave them where they are and make them unreadable?

Also have you considered moving the laypout of the forum around to make it more Brit Filipino friendly as has been suggested?

I would suggest closing all the existing political threads with the remark that all political content is now in the closed forum. That discourages further unintentional activity.

I've started locking some of the threads so they can't be replied to but are still there for reference for now.

John we are for the time being going to keep the Forum visible, for indexing and ranking purposes. We will look at the re-ordering of the forums over the coming days.

I'm not well-versed in the dark arts of SEO and all publicity is good but surely if none of the politics messages are indexed, they won't show up in Bing or Google searches and people won't come here just to discuss politics. I really do think they should be hidden from view and form the corpus of the closed section.

Can we have a travels photographs section so we can post places of interest visited so newcomers to the UK may use it to get travel ideas,no techno talk allowed haha! Something thatis easy to post photos instead of getting error messages file to large!

What's actually required is a gallery, something like Xenforo Media Gallery. The "file too large" error message arises because the original owner imposed a 1 Megabyte file size limit to keep disk storage requirements to manageable proportions (one has to budget for disk space to store backups as well as the live site). There's no end of free picture resizers both online and as downloads which will reduce file sizes to well within the limit. Those two photos I uploaded of our local bus station yesterday each had a file size of over 3 megabytes but reduced to less than 500Kb without much loss.

I understand your logic but we will keep the 14 thousand posts available to Google for now.

I meant to comment a few days ago on the disappearance of the (open) Politics section for which I thank you :)
