    Hello friends,
Finally... we think we have all the requirements for my wifes spouse visa to date we have:
    • English test completed
    • TB test passed
    • CFO passed (get sticker when we have visa)
    • Married in Hong Kong (marriage reported at Phils Consulate in Hong Kong)
    • I have 12 months payslips and Bank Statements (salary £30k)
    • I have letter from MD of my company stating my salary and confirming increase to £30,900 this year
    • We have an affidavit from our Landlady in Davao City stating we rented a house from her for two years and I lived there for six months as husband and wife
    • We have dated pics of us going back to 2013 and also me with wifes family
    • Screenshots of Skype chats Facebook pages etc proving constant contact
    • Stamps in my passport proving visits to Phils
    • I have Phils ACR card with our address in Davao City
    • I have a large rented room in house privately owned and owner is willing to provide a signed rental agreement stating my wife can live there (no overcrowding issue)
    • We have offer of tenancy of a house outright when renovations are complete (owner is a friend)
    • Proof of me supporting my wife for three years
    Points we are worried about:
    • Renting a room in shared house ( don't have utility bills)
    • I have a conviction for road rage (naughty boy) 20 years ago £50 fine
    • I have no CCJ'S or Bankruptcy but my credit score is not good (past credit card problem)
Apart from that I have no Tax problems or anything adverse Government related and actually passed security to visit Buckingham Palace with my military veteran friend. I am guessing as sponsor I will be checked out?
So, moving on where do I start with the visa application. I read some documents have to go to Sheffield, some submitted or scanned in Manila.
I don't know where to begin with this help much appreciated.:)

Hi @jims456 , Me and My Fiance started the visa application using this link https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome
to complete and fill up the online visa application , pay for it and also set an appointment for Biometrics
I created the account but both of us can access it , My Fiance sent all the supporting documents to Sheffield and I just submitted my passport and did the biometrics at VFS Manila :) I hope this helps !
    Good luck to your application.

Hello. Your credit score in the UK is not relevant. However you will need proof of address in the UK. That's usually by a signed tenancy agreement and a council tax bill. I suggest that you have your UK drivers license registered to the address and use that. If you could have the electricity or water bill in your name that would be helpful. You will need the title deeds of the property and the written permission of the owner that you can live there.

If the form asks if you have been subject to any criminal proceedings then you will have to disclose it. If the firm does not specifically ask then you should read the guidance notes carefully about what information they expect in the other information section. I personally would mention your criminal conviction with dates and details on the other information section since I do not believe it will affect your application and it is better to provide information than to be deemed dishonest by not disclosing any relevant facts.

This could be a problem as I am renting a room.
The house is also occupied by the owner and all the Bills are in her name. Furthermore, as the house is mortgaged I believe the title deeds will be held by the lender and access not easy.
I do have a drivers license and tax documentation at this address plus I am registered to vote here. The owner is willing to provide a legally compliant tenancy agreement plus a supporting letter stating my wife can live with me at the property.
We also have an accurate floor plan demonstating there is no overcrowding issue.
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thank you

If the owner can provide you with a tenancy agreement and a letter that would be fine. I would suggest you use your electoral roll registration information and your drivers license as additional proof of address.
The floor plan and details of occupancy will be necessary to demonstrate there is no overcrowding under Part X (part 10) of the housing act 1985. There is a room standard and a space standard. If your case is nowhere the limit for either of these two standards, then that should be enough. However, if you are close to the limit, then you would be advised to obtain an immigration property survey in which a professional will provide a certification.

seems good to me. when my fiancee applied--i was renting a flat. i supplied a floor plan--a few photos, the rental agreement, email from the agent saying she could legally occupy..and also an email stating i could renew the tenancy as it had less than 6 months left. no way could i get access to the title deeds ! that only applies if you own the property yourself.

as your place is --in effect--a building shared in multiple occupancy--it would be a good idea to get a survey done to confirm there is no overcrowding. you may find your local authority offer this service.

I really appreciate the advice, a professional survey seems like a good idea. I will not take a chance and get turned down for a technicality. Definitely a worthwhile investment in my situation. I will contact my loal authority as sugested.
Any ideas on cost? I am guessing £400 0r so.

Farnborough, I see a company from Woking (which is close) advertising but without knowing them its a concern. I would prefer to use Hussien&co as a member had a positive result.:)
