Its a reasonably straightforward spouse visa application, i did mine over 3 years ago and its a dim and distant memory not to mention the GOV rules and website change every 5 minutes!

a spouse visa is ---settlement ; settlement / spouse.

seems he needs to go back to step one--" know your visa type "

After making your Online application and sending in your supporting docs to Sheffield, what is the timescale for returning your documents?
Would that be done whilst the application is in progress or would we have to wait until a decision is made?
    Thanks:)

I sent her son's Philippines docs in Monday...tracked next day delivery..got them back Saturday..with standard letter saying they had made copies...although I had included copies of everything.

Thanks for the reply Bigmac. My wife got an email saying no prepaid envelope had been included for the return of the docs and would we send one or they would be unable to return them.
I sent a prepaid A4 envelope with a note quoting the Ref number and asking them to return important docs only, not the 30 pages or so of pics and chat history. Royal Mail tracking confirms the envelope was received Monday 13 th Nov, hopefully we should get them back soon although I am paranoid about things going missing.
    Fingers crossed;)

Yes..they want a pre paid return envelope..as if the visa fee isn't daylight robbery..they add insult to injury..and give a non-service.

Hi everyone. I have applied for an online spouse visa and when I go to the Visa4UK website it shows the status as "complete" with next action "print application". My wife has an appointment in Cebu VFS booked but I am confused by one of the sections that has not turned green (as the others have that were completed) titled Register at Commercial Partner. There was a post earlier on this but I did not understand. When I click on this it takes me to VFS Global but I have already made an appointment for her. Can I just ignore the box called Register at Commercial Partner? I have an email confirming appointment as well from Visa4UK. Thanks

i am still waiting for a couple of bits of information before I send to Sheffield the papers I have. Is there a time limit for sending the papers after the online application is done. My wife has not handed in the paper form yet. All I can find is that the papers should be submitted as soon as possible after the online application

Hello! Good evening! The information you have stated is very much helpful. I just have a question. You said the person who has the card should log in? does it means that my husband who is located in the uk can pay for my visa without sending me the money here in the Philippines?

Hello guys! I'm here again! I just finish my UKTB test and I met new people who would also planning to do a spouse visa. One of them told me that after I finish and I got all of the requirements I need to send it to my husband(who ever is in the UK) and he will be the one who will hand it to the embassy?.. Please enlighten me. I'm so confused if this is real or a fake news? They said its under the new rule. I would appreciate any help. Thank you so much.

It seems that VFS do not accept documents anymore for scanning so you have to send your documents to your husband and he will submit all the documents to Sheffield in a PO address (not the embassy).

you need to print off--and sign--your copy of the completed vaf4a application form after its completed and the fee paid. take it--and all attatchments ----with you to VFS--with your passport(s). {also--take all your other documents just in case--TB cert--birth cert-IELTS,--just in case VFS want to see them }. VFS will keep your passport.

every thing else you then DHL to your sponsor. when he receives it--adds to his own documents and sends the lot to UKVI sheffield within 21 days--...NOT the embassy.
