I have just joined the site. Thanks to HaloHalo for the kind email welcoming me.
My brief reason for joining is that I married my Philippina wife in July this year and I will shortly be applying for a spouse of settled person visa for her.
It looks quite complex and that I will need to supply a lot of papers in support of the application.
I might need some help along the way so I am hoping someone can help if needed
If we are successful then I hope the site will be a place where I and my wife can chat and socialise
    Thanks for reading

welcome--feel free to ask anything you like. once you get the hang of it --its not really complex. the main thing is for you--as the sponsor--to meet the financial requirement--and have somewhere suitable to live.

Hi. Thanks for that. Home is sorted and I think by my calculation I can meet the financial requirement. I guess it is just to send enough documents to show them that is important

what some members have done--is write a list of all your documents on here---and others will suggest what needs to be added or deleted.

    SU07 Sponsorship undertaking
    Statements for financial income
Land registry form for proof of property in UK and utility bills
    Marriage certificate
Evidence of our joint financial responsibilities - rental agreement
Evidence of time we have spent together in both countries - hotel and rental property receipts & bookings
    Passport
If anyone has more suggestions please let me know

do not send in your passport---- a certfied copy is required. a solicitor can certify it for you--generally £5 for about 5 seconds work. my solicitor did it free--lol.

can i ask what category your using to meet the financial requirement ?

    same as we did

you will need your most recent letter from the DWP stating your pension amount.
also the most recent 6 months bank statements showing your pension paid in--and 6 months proof of savings--and write a statement as to the source of savings. in my case i sold my house to free up capital as savings.

Hi. Thanks again for the advice. Can I ask if you mailed the documents to the Philippines or did you take them yourself as they need originals? If you sent by mail did you use a courier like UPS? Thanks

everything from the sponsor goes to sheffield. anything the applicant takes to vfs manila--will be told to send to sheffield--apart from passport and printed copy of vaf4 application. do not send anything from the UK to the philippines. it will only have to be sent back here.

Thats great....much easier and cheaper...thanks for letting me know...much appreciated. Would the online form once completed have made this clear? sorry for all the questions but I am nervous about the whole process

its all been a major cock up. vfs manila were supposed to scan the documents submitted there--to save posting. but its not happening. my wife recently flew back to the filis--to take her son in to vfs for his biometrics..and was told to send his documents to sheffield---which we have now done. plenty of room for mix ups galore now.

no wonder net immigration is down so much.

Thanks for the good wishes...I am grateful for the advice given so far. Dealing with Officialdom always makes me nervous even though I have the paperwork needed (or at least what I think I need lol)
