    hello everyone,
so as some of you might remember, i applied for a fiance visa last october and the dreaded news of it being refused came about on january 15.

reason for refusal was for missing evidences (july and sept bank statement, employment letter and evidence of intending to marry in uk). these were all submitted.

we availed for the scanning process whereby vfs manila scans documents to ukvi sheffield, could it be that they disnt scan or made mistakes with scanning??

thanks bigmac , well, after my fiance had all her documents scanned at vfs manila to sheffield, they gave her back the documents. so we have the documents.

what annoys me is that all the said “missing evidences” are all in the application pack/bundle that we submiited for scanning!

Spoke to a solicitor as soon a i got back to London. She advised me to write a letter to sheffield, saying there mustve been an admin error etc. and request for Manger to review it. UKVI SHEFFIELD rejected the letter and told me to refer to the refusal letter and appeal if im eligible. which i am.

So now, i have to appeal and wait months - all because either evidences were overlooked by ECO or vfs manila haven’t scanned all documents.

Anyone in similar boat as me? has anyone appealed for visa refusal? if so, how long did you wait?

so--because someone at vfs was either incompetent--or worse---you have extra expense and delays. its just not good enough.

Bad luck John Paul but good information there for others...

Basically unless you really have no alternative cut VFS Manila (or anywhere else in the Philippines) out of your equation.

Filipinos can be very sloppy (especially at the clerk level) - I often think about buying Health Insurance but when I factor in where I live and the likelihood of the Ambulance driver taking the opportunity to deliver some rice to the mill or take his family to the beach/mall before he/she takes me to where I should be going... I end up changing my mind.

I applied for a visit visa for my wife. This was refused partly due to missing documents. Scanned by VFS Cebu. I believe both VFS and whoever makes decisions don't know the correct way to process focuments I am now appealing this decision so far it's been since May 2 I am determined to take them to court to prove my point.

you cannot appeal a visit visa refusal--whats the point ??--a new application is only £90 --with a quick decision.

Thank you bigmac, my wife has had two visas refused due to alleged overstay in the uk. So its a waste of time reapplying. As they will just refuse again. I am appealing on human rights grounds this is allowed though a long winded process

never easy to be apart mate. can put a strain in relationship at times.

just a thought though, so we are both appealing because either ECO overlooked the documents or VFS manila and cebu didnt scan documents properly. which i think its the latter.

I know, vfs might not take the liability or blame for it - so how can one prove that documents were all submitted. they (ukvi sheffield) might turn around and say we added said missing evidences or documents.

Harsh as it may sound, UKVI won't take that into consideration for the very simple reason that you don't need a Visa to visit the Philippines.
