I am at a dilemma regarding this extension. I am looking at the worst scenario which would be getting married losing my fiancee widow teachers pension and still losing me at the end of the 6 months because of his finances will not reach the required level. without his T.P. his earnings will drop to 9000 a year/ His savings at the end of the 6 months will be approximately 25k. I am got a lot of false information from the Filipino groups that i involved with and pours it over him/I am desperate not to go back home but he have to admit it doesn’t look good from were he is sitting.
As an alternative he was thinking early next year to sell up here and either buy a smaller house or rent/ it would free up 200,000 that he could bank. I often talks about him going back to work but he think his beyond all that now and besides his age is against him.
So if i went home without getting married would that affect a re-application next year.?
Also mentions a 3rd party help with financial requirements from friends or family.i really need your advice guys.thanks and Godbless

    Yours faithfully,
    Kimmy

my only income is the state pension--about £8600 a year. i sold my house and freed up about £100,000 so it more than covered the savings requirement. . this was for a fiancee visa and for the first FLR after we were married.. i rented a place.

as regards third party help--it cant be a loan--needs to be a cash gift--held in a bank a/c for 6 months before the application.

For goodness sake...get the house sold and get married.

You can't take it with you.

I think I'd want a pre-nup in that situation though... especially if I had kids. ;)

Seems like he's already given you a perfect solution. Sell up, buy a smaller house or rent. Two hundred thousand in the bank. Sorted.

so your fiance used his 2 pensions to meet the income requirement for your fiancee visa, but if you marry him you think he will lose his teacher pension. are you sure of that ?

anyway..how long have you got till your fiancee visa expires ?

    It says here: https://www.elderlawanswers.com/is-it-better-to-remarry-or-just-live-together-6736

if your are a widow, widower or surviving divorced spouse who remarries after age 60, you are entitled to benefits on your prior deceased spouse's Social Security earnings record.

Not sure if it relates to your situation, but he needs to get this clarified pretty sharpish.

If he does lose his pension, then get married, go back home and re-apply for a spouse visa 6 months after he sorts out the housing situation to get savings - fully explaining what the reason was for going back home when you do so.

Unfortunately you will have wasted a bit of money on the fiancee visa, as you could have gone for a visa to come here, get married and gone home again with a bit more forward planning. But, it's all worth it in the end because true love is what it's all about, and there's a lot of money going in the government's pocket whichever way you go.

my previous wife--who i divorced in 2013...was a widow when i met her. her late husband had been a prison officer. she had a widows pension from the prison service. before we got married, she checked it out--and continued to receive that pension when we were married. that is a fact--i saw all the correspondence and her bank statements.
