My partner finds it very funny. “You’re road” is based on a footage from TLC’s reality program “90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days.” The segment follows Larry, an American who travels to the Philippines to propose marriage to Jenny, a Filipino he met online. Her face....jeepers. Could cut a man down at 40 paces. Ouch. Loss of "Face" is something to bear in mind in Asia.
They didn’t quite gel as a couple, did they. If it had been me I would have politely eaten some to be just that, polite. But I am not sure I could have done that with Balut. My partners family put on some good grub for me. I enjoyed most of it. Also they harvested fresh buko and stuff like that. My partner’s uncle even offered to kill a crocodile for us all but he never did carry that offer through. But yeah, she looks mega peed orf.
Looks like the makings of a nice garden there. What is the big tree in the RH part of the background?
Actually that's the mother-in-law's back garden . The palm type tree.., no idea. The big one on the right is of course a Mango tree. Plenty of those where we live.
They have an interesting method of building that I noticed when I was there . They build the hollow block walls first , and the piers afterward , whereas in the Uk we build them into the wall as we go . Looks like it all beginning to take shape now Graham . Good stuff , nice to see the photos as it progresses . Thanks for sharing .
Lucky... I've been missing those ripe mangoes from my home country that distinctively sweet taste makes me salivate like seriously
Yes, I just let them get on with it. Some poriners can't resist interfering every step of the way. It just creates bad feeling, and the finished construction will be little different anyway. It's not like we are building a tower block or something. lol Lovely guys and they are relatives, so my family are safe with them. So far their work has been excellent and at a very good price.
Yes , that was no way a criticism mate , just an observation that I found interesting having been in the building trade . There walls are really strong , I've seen their work on my gf's house , and I was amazed how hard they were .
Yes, I was in the trade for most of my life too. The thing is, those people are used to working with the local materials, tools and conditions, and as you say, what they build is surprisingly strong. I can easily 'adjust ' things myself later ... without upsetting anyone.
One of the boundaries of our property is a very handy little stream... and the perfect place to sit in peace with my morning coffee. .
