https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Home/ViewFAQ There is a section in the visa4uk website called PAYMENTS AND REFUNDS What is the visa fee refund policy? We will only refund your visa fee if you withdraw your application in writing, using the refund request form on visa4UK, before biometrics are submitted and within 3 months and 7 days of the date the application was paid for.

Hi all, Just wanted to ask about Email confirmation- application under consideration by ECO. We have received the documents as previously stated from my post. But we have not received any sort of email confirmation whatsoever that confirms the application is under consideration. We are on Day 28 from when my fiance has submitted his biometrics. Does/Did anyone have any experience like this and is this normal? Thanks in advance!
did you get a standard unsigned letter with the returned bundle---saying it had all been scanned ? that is the only confirmation we got. definitely no emails.

Well they finally got round to giving us a decision from our application made back in November. The visa was granted but we ran out of patience and will be living in the Philippines and may return back to the UK next year.
I think the visa entry has expiry. Make sure that she has her BRP first before you live in Phil. And if you have any plan of coming back to the UK, it should be not more than 6 months from the date of leaving the UK. In most of the countries I know, you lose the residency after being out of the country for 6 months. If you will also apply for visa extension next time, it could affect too.
Thanks for the information. I will certainly look into it and see where we stand after spending time out of the country.
