I love listening to this track "RH Negative" by Rafael Anton Isisarri on his "The Shameful Years". My colours are nailed to the mast. I can play it many times over without getting bored. I know my musical tastes are quite different from the mainstream but am curious if there is anyone in Brit-Fil land who likes this? I am not expecting many "likes" but am curious nonetheless. Any comments, whatever the response, are welcome.
I found it really good. I'e listened to it a few times at different times of the day. I find it sort of thought provoking and depending on mood throes up different mind pictures Nice one Mike.
Keith & John, As the years have gone by I seem to have become more happy listening to music without words. Instrumentals seem to give my mind the time to use more imagination.
When I was young I learned to play the trombone. I played it from the age of 11 till 18 years of age. To cut a long story short I ended up taking Music as an A level. It was wasted in the long term but enjoyable at the time. It introduced me to a range of instrumental type music, some of which did not do anything for me and some I enjoyed. Since then I occasionally listen to that form of music. Neither my first wife nor my current partner have any interest in that form of music at all. Your youtube video reminded me of some stuff I used to listen to back in the mid seventies. The two are different in treatment but with some similarity all the same. This guy is credited as being the “father of electronic music and space music”: That is just one of the tracks. The music isn’t original as it is an electronic rehash of Debussy’s work.
I heard this Tomita when it came out in the early 70's and it was interesting. When my wife hears me play some of the music I like, she asks me to turn it off as it makes her sleepy! I bought this LP in 1971 when I was 15 and it opened doors....some of it here: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2837
I wish that I could have gone here in Estonia to see this amazing concert by Biosphere (Geir Jenssen from Norway). A truly breathtaking setting matched by the music. Other concerts happen here also. https://www.facebook.com/LeigoLakeMusic/
For anyone who may like the Norwegian artist in the post above, slip the headphones on......close your eyes......drift away.....
My music tastes are varied but this was only good for my tinitus. ( the first clip anyway, the second clip with the dance rhythm was great ) . I am a fan of the likes of Jarre and Enigma. For some reason this is getting many plays which is completely different from anything I have listened to at all. I subscibe to Google Play Family which allows Mica to stream and download to her phone in Cayman. Does anyone else use music services?
Haha. Yes, I like that. But with me being outnumbered I tend to get “forced” to listen to my partners favourite tunes. She likes Pink! And my daughter who is 5 likes this sort of stuff:
I used to like Jarre about 20 years ago and on rare occasion still do but I don’t seem to appreciate as much as I once did. We have an Amazon Prime account and you get a good selection of music with it though they also have a dedicated music-only service too. Though I seem to be saying “Alexa play childrens songs” more often than not!
I bought the English language single version of this: Still sounds great to me... loud on a good system.
I have listened to Kraftwerk over the years, from 1970 on when Klaus Dinger then Michael Rother (both from Neu!) were in the band. I went to see Kraftwerk the early 70's in Liverpool and actually left the gig as it was quite boring compared to the other bands I saw live in those days. Seems a bit silly now! They are still playing life in 2018:
They are really good to listen on a stereo or in the car etc. but I still think they are not exciting live.
