If you bring the house into the marriage and the marriage is short then its unlikely you would lose the house. If you bought the house in your name whilst married, that is a different kettle of fish. You could be asked to sell it though to fund a financial settlement. I think you should only be able to buy a house in the UK if you are resident. I also think companies should not be allowed to buy dwellings unless it is UK registered, buy to let and not a tax dodge.
