I came across a British expat a few weeks ago who Youtube's about his daily life living in Bohol. The essence of his none stock none profit lifestyle is to Youtube daily (he breaks his daily life up into about 10 or 15 short video's).

He receives donations (via patreon.com) and applies them to those in need within the local community. Alongside this he and his wife Beth are continually improving their own home of which he video's.

Some video's are bit mundane but gives a real sense of the provincial lifestyle. He even provides for people to visit or stay at his home, again he doesn't hide the fact that to do this a contribution is sought. I must admit that I have been watching quite a few of his videos and do appreciate his philosophical meanderings and lifestyle.

He's currently got 75k subscribers, was at 74k on Friday, so the momentum of signups (1k daily) of his lifestyle seems to appeal to others. Interestingly he will visit other expats and they too talk about there local business entities.

On this occasion I am quite willing to stand up for this guy and his gal...Their videos may be "mundane" and very boring but what they have done for locals makes them local hero`s in my book..
32 houses they have built with every centavo accounted for...
There is a local foreign foe that has caused them big problems of late so now they must regisiter with local and national authorities to resolve this..This could take months or even years....How ever long it takes, local poor will suffer in the mean time... BIG TIME!

I've been following him and his partner for a long time. Face book friends, etc. Remarkable energy and zest for life he has, considering he's , I think, 79 years old now... wife 50 years younger. More power to their elbows. :like:

I try to watch his videoes when I have time and I admit, that on occasion I start losing the will to live after about 30 seconds....
I carry on though like a personal sacrifice as I can see with my own eyes the good that they do!!! Like you say...MORE POWER!!!

I said some are a bit mundane but on the whole I'd say for me, it's probably the best "real" content being expressed by a "kano" in the Philippines. I too noticed that when they do the video's they state the exact costs of their expenditure from the proceeds they have received. They're very genuine and down to earth in their approach and I guess that is reflected in the subscribers.

I'm sure in one of his videos he mentioned that he is now a none stock none profit organisation, as I quoted in my opening post but if not then I'm sure it will come quickly for all the good they do.

Yes I've watched many of his videos, as well as many other vloggers.

I like to see the life they lead in the province , and as said ,he does a lot of good work there . They seem to be a very close couple , and are sometimes quite funny .

Great to see that age is no barrier to being happy and leading a fulfilling life .

It`s a bit complicated but another "Kano" local to him has complained to the DSWD about him..
He cannot build another house or accept any more donations till their non profit status is authorized.
Dealing with Gov. bureaucracy here is a nightmare.. Could take a long, long time.
He needs to be very careful not to be doing ANY charity work as he is now being watched..Accusations have been made.

Yea I get that and of course acknowledge the slow legal system but I could have sworn that he got the status according to a recent video. Maybe i misunderstood.

This was the video he talked about the non profit org. He seems to think by the time he gets to a 100k subscribers he will be approved. He’s currently at 75k and getting 1k subscribers a day so that would suggest another 25 days or thereabouts. He does seem naturally optimistic so we shall see but sooner rather than later hopefully

Only if his lawyer knows how to grease the wheels IMO..
Most Filipino`s do not believe in the concept of "Non profit",especially those that work in a Government office!

I've been subscribed to him for over a year now and have spoken to him through messenger. A lot of his videos are very informative, some very sad but mostly a balance of all. His wife Beth is very entertaining and very funny. It's clear that they love each other very much. I enjoyed the video they done about 'what will happen when he passes away' a very funny video on a very serious subject.

So now, enter the NBI into the messy equation.
I think Terrence has a problem.
Hope one of his subscribers knows how to help him.

I havent watched any vids since his return from Thailand. He certainly doesn’t look very ruffled outwardly. Hopefully someone will represent him on Tueday. I subscribed a few weeks ago and am a small part of his Patreon. Good luck Terence.

That`s because he is a bit naive about how they view foreigner do gooders here without a do gooder permit.
    Trust me,he has a problem.
I would not be surprised if he was deported eventually or even imprisoned.
Obviously,I hope it doesn't come to that.

Thats the law but Im hoping sense will prevail, certainly in this case.

In one of his previous videos Beth was videoing him whilst chatting to a PNP officer. He was in the custody of children, non related, about 20 of them, think they were swimmming. Again if the law was pushed he could well have been in serious trouble however the officer simply sat and chatted with him telling him he needs to get formal permission from the parents of which he needed to present at the station. It was obvious that it was simply Terence providing some fun for the kids but as I say it could have been different if someone had an agenda.

Common sense doesn't exist here IMO..
We help people here too but we do it quietly. Fact is my Mrs does that stuff..Locals have no clue that I take part in the decision making process.. I stay WELL out of it!

The saga continues. DSWD have referred to NBI who say he is contravention of his visit visa. I guess he will submit an affidavit.
