With regard to the child visa, success depends on the applicant and sponsor being able to clearly demonstrate the other parent has no input into the child's upbringing and welfaare or strongly agrees that the child can migrate and is willing to record that agreement.
If the child is subject to adoption that I would of thought gives great weight to the application.( I assume the parent is to migrate and the other adoptive parent is the sponsor)

Yes..very much so. Read @a8amg .....early this year. Wife successful...4 year old child refused..twice now. Applied for 3rd time. You can't make this stuff up.

Yes but in this case the child is legally adopted and hopefully be able to provide records to support the adoption. I doubt it fully guerentees succes but legalities add weight.
