I just found the Face culture to be very plastic.

Could this system actually be suppressing the people?

I suggest that you arrange to meet her in the Philippines to put your mind at rest.

This is like a business relationship, and you are investing in a deal.

If you have been scammed you will find out.

Or maybe he is poor and somewhat naïve.

a friend of mine---her ex husband died some months back. she was his executor. he died skint. when she went through his financial affairs she found he had given over £8000 to some egyptian woman he had " met" through online dating. never met in person.

the advice we give on here--is never send ANY money to someone you have never met.

It would also be good advice to never send any money to the crazy psychotic gambler that you actually have met in person, advice which if I had a time machine I would be sending back some fourteen or fifteen years to a certain Scotsman sitting not one millimetre away from me right now. :D

I think unfortunately, you have to assume the worst for the OP , I’m sure he would have been happy to update us with any positive news about the outcome .

Pity if that was the case , but there is only one way to avoid it happening. Follow the golden rule without exception.
