Well, I am finally here... Valencia, Bukidnon. My final point of interest before getting married. Too late to turn back now We apply for the marriage licence tomorrow, today I just need to catch up on some sleep
Good luck Sean. A word of advice; when you get married and it gets to the stage where the church office hands out the paperwork, make sure everything is spelt correctly. When Elsa and I married, they made a few mistakes (they had me as a Filipino!!) which caused some hassle later when it came to applying for the spouse visa.
Got to follow a few rules of requirements first. There is the family planning seminar, which is in visayan so I am not going to it, so says the official - But Joy has to.. And we have to plant 10 trees! Yup, 10 trees... Suppose that is one way to combat the declining woodland here in the Phils
As it is a family planning seminar, I think the planting of one or two seeds might be more appropriate.
I did the same family plannig seminar in olongopo and the bits I could understand where realy shocking. I later found out if I'd given the bloke 500 peso at the start he'd have just stamped the paperwork for us!
Yeah, I remember the seminar as well, ours was held outside Palo Municipal building as there were no rooms available that day. It was bad enough trying to keep track of the speaker switching between English and Tagalog with frequent interruptions from jeepneys, car horns and crowing birds. To be honest I was none the wiser after the seminar what the hell it was supposed to be about - it could have been a seminar about cooking for all I know. Can you imagine something like that in the UK?
Yeah, I didn't have to do this seminar also, as the lady couldn't speak any English in the province I think we paid about 100 pesos for a stamp that went somewhere I was lucky and anyway, the cling film and elastic bands didn't work here in the UK as we have nippers around the house now, Rob :vhappy: Hope you are still trying still We hope we will have some good news from you and Elsa this year
Sean, make sure you get a few xerox copies of the marriage certificate to send off to the NSO (it was sent to Manila for us in Cebu province) and to keep one in case the other gets lost. Belt and braces.
