    Sorry...........

I stopped following Boxing soon after Ali retired.

In show-manship, dedication and sheer fighting class, There is no one out there to fill the void he left.

Fair comment. Boxing, for me, is a sport that is by nature, explicitly violent. One man trying to beat the other. I personally don't rate rugby in the same vein. The task of rugby is to score points but yes it is very physical and tempers may flair however the ref controls that energy well.

I'm not really a footie fan either but enjoy the World Cup.

Well, looks like he will do as he said he would.
Donate 100% of his 8 Million Quid purse to build homes for the homeless.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ry-pledges-donate-8million-help-homeless.html

Tyson Fury has pledged to donate the £8million he earned for fighting Deontay Wilder to charity.

The former heavyweight champion, who drew with Wilder in Los Angeles on Saturday night, said he would give away his earnings to help the homeless.

He said before the bout: 'I'm going to give it to the poor and I'm going to build homes for the homeless.

'I don't really have much use for it, I'm not interested in becoming a millionaire or a billionaire. I'm a boxer not a businessman and I'll probably go down the same route as every other boxer - skint at the end of it all.

'You can't take it with you, so I might as well do something with it and help out people who can't help themselves.'

Fury, from Manchester, battled drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental health difficulties before his comeback on Saturday.

I didn't watch the fight myself but my best friend did. He is a heavyweight uk mma title holder and I got a summary of the fight from him. He was rather disappointed with the scoring of the fight to put it mildly. He thought fury was the clear winner and from what he said I can kind of agree however it is what it is I will sit down and watch it at some point. You have to respect fury for having the strength to face his deamons and do something positive with the talents that he has there are not many people that would do what he has with his payout.
I tried boxing as a child but for medical reasons I had to stop at the time however it had a positive affect on me at the time. MMA has helped my friend through a lot of bad things and given him an outlet for some of his anger. I wont go into details but he has gone through things that no man should and it would damage anyone but I think if he didn't have MMA then he would be a in a lot worse place if you get what I mean. I have recently started training with him (he's teaching me but probably not getting much out of it himself). People often have a dim view of mma/boxing etc but I genuinely believe it can be a positive thing and after the fight people can have a strong friendship its not all about violence to me and my friend its also about discipline, brotherhood and a lot more.

Your friend was 100% correct. Fury outclassed and out boxed Wilder for at least 10 rounds.
The split decision was a complete farce and Tyson was cheated from one the the most incredible boxing come backs in boxing history.
