We are in the process of completing - as far as possible - the first FLR(M) application, in preparation for sending ASAP after our wedding in a couple of weeks time ('Fiancee' Visa expires February 21, 2019). The latest version of the FLR(M) application form (in PDF format) appears to be dated July 2018 (07/2018), but the latest version of the accompanying Guidance Notes appears to be FOUR YEARS prior to that date, July 2014 (07/2014)... Is this correct??? Has anyone found a more up-to-date version of the Guidance Notes? If so, please provide a link. TIA I will start a separate thread regarding specific queries about the answers required on the FLR(M) form, as I come across them...
https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...-uk-as-a-partner-or-dependent-child-form-flrm lower section on front page= 2 July 2018: Guidance notes updated. https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/print
Thanks, @bigmac - I must be losing my sight as well as my mind, as I can't see any mention of Guidance Notes or the date (2 July 2018) they were updated, at the link you provided???!!! I have used the 'Print' link you also provided, and maybe the Guidance Notes I was looking for/expecting don't exist as there is no 'guidance' (as far as I can see!) there, on how to answer each question or any explanation of the information required?!!! At least it appears we are filling in the correct (online) version of the FLR(M) form as, when we 'click' the "... You must 'apply online'" link (under How to apply/in the UK) it says there is already an application open...! One 'hitch' we have encountered is that you can't get past a certain point in the online application until AFTER you are married (so much for wanting to 'get ahead' with our preparation!) because it won't let you enter a date of marriage 'in the future'... That's where 'proper' Guidance Notes would be helpful, so you would at least know ALL the questions you will be asked before you begin the application, even if you can't answer them and complete the application until a later date...! As it stands, we can't get past Section 2. 'Application' and there are 7 sections in all - 3. Finance, 4. Documents, 5. Declaration, 6. Pay & 7. Download & print, listed at the top of the web page - let's just hope Sections 3. to 7. don't take as long to complete as it has taken us to get to the '(Date of) Marriage & Civil Partnership' question in Section 2. Application! If only we knew how many (more) questions are in Section 2. & what the questions are???!!! As I said in my original Post, I guess I will just have to rely upon this excellent Forum - & its Members - to answer the questions UKVI don't/won't...
if memory serves me right under the select/continue button there is an option worded something like "review change answers if you click this then all your previous answers come up alongside the answers is a change function (put in an historical marriage date say yesterday!!!!!! then progress to next bit then click reviews answers then go to your marriage date and put the day before your original supposed marriage date see if that works.
I did wonder about telling a 'little white lie' to see if it would allow me to progress to the next question - maybe I will give it a try - as you say, it does give you the option to 'review & edit' your answers before the final Send! Would be much simpler to just let you leave any uncertain answers blank, then advise you of missing info at the end!
I have tried it................it works! I think the idea of comppleting the boxes is that it drives further questions ie when did you marry 01.01.19 .............next box is where did you marry eg2 when did you marry .............. System doesnt know what to ask next as the box is blank I am no PC bright spark but I think the software works on a previous answer generating a question from a collection of predetermined loaded questions
when i did my wifes flr2 in november--i told loads of little white ones just so i could read all the questions. some related to her son were downright intrusive--as he wasnt on the application anyway...reason given as to why he wasnt included in the application----i said because he is NOT in the UK because his visa had been refused ! i must have revised the whole shebang a dozen times before i hit the button.
