Would you let her back in the UK if it was your decision?

I would not be happy to see her or any of the other jihadists or their so-called "brides" return to the UK. She had a free choice of whether to go and join Daesh, a proscribed terrorist organisation, or remain in the UK and continue her education. She chose jihad and must now live with that decision just as we all do when we make life-changing decisions. Why should several million others be put at potential risk simply because one impressionable and ill-advised young girl wants to return home.

If she is allowed to return, however, because the government has no choice (she holds only British citizenship) then she needs to be held in a top security detention centre for at least five years before a phased release back into society. During that time she should have no access to the internet and her reading and viewing materials closely monitored. Perhaps her parents should be required to pay for her reintegration.

It is quite telling that those demanding she be freely re-admitted into Britain, apart from her parents, are those with (past?) links to terrorists including Moazzam Begg who served time at Bagram and Guantanamo. So far I've not read of any representations by, say, Anglo-Saxon Christians, on her behalf.

She (Begum) and Tareena Shakil, a 29 year-old Daesh bride from Tower Hamlets, are convinced that they are the victims! ("It's all about me, me, me....")

Sadly, our beloved country is totally screwed now, due to the foolishness of letting in so many whose belief systems and 'cultural traditions' are the very antithesis of those of our parents' generation, and those before that.

The ocean of political correctness that has engulfed our society and holds it hostage is imposed largely by liberals who are unlikely to have ever set foot in the real world outside Britain. Do they really imagine that Anglo-Saxon Christians are universally treated on an equal basis by (say) Islamists in parts of the Arab world. Let's not forget that many minority communities in the UK choose to live in close proximity of one another and not integrate into British society. These liberals have learned nothing and forgotten it all.

There are many aspects to this issue, firstly lets look if she were to come back, Begums parents are saying the to be born child would be British (wrong) being born in Britain does not automatically give you British citizenship, then we may have the child itself, is Begum a fit and proper person to raise the child ?, would the child be raised as a jihadi ?. There is a way around it but the child wouldnt be with its natural mother, this really is a can of worms for everyone concerned, all created by the actions of the woman concerned, the Begum family were given a home in this country many years ago yet still expect support from the Government.
She made her bed she has to lie in it, she cant have it both ways..

If it were my decision, and with a clear conscience?...……………………….A surgical drone strike would resolve the problem.

In the absence of drone strikes on ISIS strongholds (which wouldn't trouble my conscience), I think we (Britain) should actively bring this girl and our other ISIS loons back 'home'.

Once back in the UK, she should face a fair trial and kid taken into care of necessary. If the Times article is accurate, then she should not be allowed to live a free life.

Syria is a failed state. Neither Assad or the other rebels (excluding ISIS) invited this girl to Syria or want her to remain there. In this instance, I think it is Britain's duty to repatriate this girl and others. It is not right that we pass the buck and leave our problem citizens to be another country's problem. If the other county in question had the resources to deal with these people, then that would be a different situation.

In the case of dual nationals, most of these guys will hold other nationality with tinpot countries like Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan. Again, assuming they became radicalised in British mosques, they are our problem. Much better we deal with these people rather than being deported to Yemen and simply starting all over again.

I would rather have the Syrians deal with the problem.

I, for one, I would have a clear conscience and an absolute lack of guilt feelings if Assad cleanses the country of that scum.

After all, let us not forget, that is was Anglo-American intervention in Iraq (Bliar-Bush) and regime change, doing away with Saddam, which incidentally was keeping the problem at bay, that finally managed to totally destabilize the zone.

    Anyway......
I would not feel safer if I knew that those people are out and about and free to keep on spewing hatred or cause some nasty incident.

If we give Assad the green light to get rid of our problem citizens, how long before aid workers are targeted? I'm somewhat sceptical that a fair trial and due process would be afforded to the defendant.

If we think Brexit Britain is divided, Syria has it going on with steroids.

We need to bring these people back to our country where we are better equipped to deal with them.

    Dutch guy.

If Netherlands wants to take the pair, more power to them.

Presumably, Netherlands will say bugger to that. Shamima can get on the next flight back to Stansted.

The overriding aim should not be about punishing the girl. That will happen in due course in the courts should all the hearsay about the young girl turn out to be true. The overriding aim at this stage should be about cleaning up our mess of citizens causing holy hell in failed states (and same applies to France, USA, Saudi etc for all their rogue citizens).

The isis brides husband is dutch and in custody for being a jihadi fighter,he is going nowhere soon, cant look afrter himself at this moment in time never mind a wife and unborn child "i behead people and commit similar atrocities" wouldn't look good on a CV so she cant rely on him therefor wants to return to the UK as in her own words she knows the child will be looked after here.
We are clogged up with foreign criminals, look at the statistics, our prisons are packed with the detritus of other countries, let her rot there, actions have consequences.

Her mother holds a Bengledeshi passport, the UK government are looking at this as a potential loophole of avoiding her becoming stateless.

Really? Foreign inmates in prison are higher than the overall proportion of foreign residents in the UK, but describing it as 'clogged up' or 'packed' is a tad hyperbolic. If we remove all the foreign prisoners (and foreign tax payers) from the UK, it will still be an overcrowded prison system because it has been under funded.

This should be about Britain being a responsible country when it comes to dealing with our own citizens in failed states.

Her father should actually be facing prosecution for partially radicalising her,he took her to a flag burning in London when she was 12 years of age with Anjem Choudhary the radical preacher, and Michael Adebowale the lee rigby killer, and forget the claims she was radicalised or groomed online,i went on a paramotor forum today and a travel forum,on neither forum was I approached and asked would I like to move to Syria or marry an ISIS killer, you have to visit certain sites to find those sort of contacts, she is a wrong un,and she isn't a child, she is an adult.

She should not be allowed to return to Britain. Not ever.

She reportedly told the Times "I’m not the same silly little 15-year-old schoolgirl who ran away from Bethnal Green four years ago. And I don’t regret coming here." She added: "I am scared this baby is going to get sick in this camp, that's why I want to get back to Britain, because I know my baby will be looked after."

So she made the decision to move from London's Bethnall Green to Syria and marry a jihadist, never mind the fact she was just 15 at the time; that was her choice. She callously stole jewellery from her family to fund her trip. Whilst in Syria she was fully-immersed in radical Islamism and would have supported the slaughter of "Crusaders" (Christians); she may still do so. She may be such a nasty and callous jihadist that she will use her child as leverage to tug at the heart-strings of the ever-forgiving liberals in order to get a "free pass" back to Britain where she may meet up with other like-minded individuals and plot and execute yet another atrocity. And she'll laugh at whilst she is doing so, for being so forgiving and soft.

There are far more deserving cases for taxpayer funding than the likes of Miss Begum. She's married to a Dutchman, she's their problem not ours.

Que? Why shouldn't the Netherlands turnaround and say that both these people are our problem? Let them deal with the guy, and we'll sort out the girl.

I'm not advocating the tax payer funding this girl except her trial, prosecution and probable imprisonment.

It would be shameful if the UK found a loophole to pass this burden on to - if I may paraphrase the Trumpster- a "sh1th0le" country like Bangladesh. She became radicalised in our streets (or mosques) whilst holding a British passport. We need to clean up our own mess rather than pass the buck on to countries much poorer than ourselves.

I take your point but she may not wish to be permanently separated from the father of her child and you can bet your life that some bleeding-heart liberals will demand they be reunited.

It strikes me that we have one or two oil platforms around our coast and out of sight of land. She and her fellow jihadists could easily be detained on one for five or so years without it costing the tax payer the tens of thousands of Pounds needed to incarcerate a prisoner in a top security jail. Her baby should be put up for adoption for its own sake and our safety.

Same fair trial and due process her masters, ISIS, gave to their prisoners??

Brexit has nothing to do with this topic.

We will never, ever be equipped to deal with this murdering lot, as past incidents have proved.
Bloke or three, running amok with a van through throngs of tourists or shoppers going about their business, and then bursting out and chasing innocent people with sharp knives stabbing away with abandon...

or blowing oneself up as audiences come out of concerts..

Equipped to what.... Mourn and be terrorised???

We have now, the perfect opportunity to keep malevolent and maleficent people out of our society, and I reckon we should take it.
    Why risk it?
leopards and spots come to mind.

The aspect most troubling to mainstream liberals is the girl's age.

When I was a teenager, the worst things I did was steal some Pritstick from Woolies and throw Mr Watkins' car keys down the drain (never did find out how and how long it took him to get home). The girl is clearly in a different league to most teenage delinquents and has experienced/witnessed things most adults never will.

To what extent should you be criminalised (possibly for life) for something done as a teenager? Was she brainwashed or just naturally a bad person inside? Can she realistically be rehabilitated? Assuming the Time interview is accurate, she's probably a gonna as far as normal society is concerned.

Britain probably has some uninhabited islands lying around of no interest to conservation of science. I wouldn't have a problem with turning one of those into our own Gitmo to hold our own domestic terrorists (rather than foreign fighters we have plucked from Afghanistan). This would be better than having them mingle with the normal prison population. It would be much more costly than standard prisons, but problems are rarely fixed for free.
