Amazon pay well if you have your own van but it is hard work and I am 48yrs old, so thats why I started doing the care work. I pretty confident that I can meet the financial requirements doing both jobs and my gf has a pretty good job in the philippines selling condo so our plan is for her to save money herself to go towards the expenses. She is privately educated and has a degree she is so lovely.
Yeah well I just started and havnt been paid yet lol, I heard doing double shifts is a good way to make your money up and I will work 6 days a week with my other job, 4 days care work and two days driving for amazon
https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...-office-immigration-and-nationality-fees-2018 currently £1523 plus £1000 National Health surcharge. there are further fees in stages over the following 5 years. about £5000. love dont come cheap.
I still have time, but I will need to decide which Visa to apply for. If I apply for the marriage visa then my gf cant work in the UK when she is here but if I want the settlement visa then I would need to get married to her first in the Philippines. So I could goto the Philippines in December and get married to her then apply for the settlement Visa next year. Has anyone got married in the Philippines? How difficult that?
Hahaha there are numerous posters that have got married in Phills, providing you get your paperwork sorted prior, and make your appointment at the British Embassy in manila, its relatively easy. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/marriage-in-the-philippines Have a read, then come back and ask anything if you are unsure about something.
I am planning to get married to her in the Philippines maybe September if we can save enough money for it together, if not then it will be sometime before December, after that I will apply for a settlement visa next year. Do we have to show that we have lived together to get the settlement visa?
Only in so far as you will need to be earning more if she has the baby before settlement, the other option would be to leave the baby in the Philippines and get the baby over at a later date when your wife has a steady job..
It will be rather expensive for you to prove that unless you are married to the mother before she gives birth as the Passport Office may insist on you providing the results of a three-way DNA test. And that will have to be done in Manila.
I think this alternative is storing up issues for the future. If I was a UKBA person the first question I would ask the mother is " how could you leave a newborn" Then would come the question "Do you care" Then "If grandma Philippines has looked after the child since birth why cannot that arrangement continue?"
Well she isnt pregnant yet lol I plan to get married to her in September and maybe she will get pregnant at that time? Then file for the settlement Visa a couple of months later.
So I am hoping she will get her Visa and get into the UK before she gives birth. I'm 48 and she really wants a family of her own so I said I want to have a baby before I'm 50 lol.
I gave this answer bearing in mind that the poster was having problems reaching the £18,600 in previous posts, I wanted him to be aware that bringing his wife to be, and there child may put them beyond the limits of something that they could afford.. Otherwise i would not have given that response..
