I've noticed Heineken appearing in the 7/11 stores and it wasn't all that expensive either, not bought any though.

At my age there is no pleasure in trying to down large amounts of alcohol in a short time, I'd have to drink about 5 tins in two hours to get value for money out of 250 peso. actually just about parity on the 7/11 prices in our local shop.

Local Philippine shop Markham, 60 peso each.

5 x 60=300 and I don't want to drink that much in two hours.

Tiger Beers available in 7/11 as well.

The Tiger Black is quite a flavoursome beer, though at 6. 9% alcohol it seems just a tad too strong for session drinking.

Yeah I had noticed Tiger in the 7/11 as well, surprising seeing foreign beers on sale in corner shops these days, when for so long it was nigh on impossible to get them.

Although I do remember buying a tin of McEwan's export in Boracay back in 2006, it was horrible but I thought I'd give it a try as I hadn't had one for about 20 years at that point.

Do they sell PG-Tips in the Philippines now?Never drank alcohol but I love a decent cup of tea and only ever drank liptons in the PI which isn't really a decent cuppa.

Take your own tea with you, I always have a box of tea bags, and a decent mug packed in my backpack when travelling.
Strange really, I stocked up with three boxes of speciality Boh tea when we were in Kuala Lumpur a couple of weeks ago, I like their Mandarin Earl Grey variety.
Never found any decent tea produced in the Philippines.

Yorkshire tea is the stuff I drink, by choice, when I am back in Leeds.
Liptons tea bags always seems too weak and wishy washy.

    Do you drink tea:
    - With or without Milk,
    - With or without Sugar,
    - With or without a chocolate digestive.

You can get chocolate digestives from M&S in Manila. :like:

I don't go to manila (hate the place) and I don't eat chocolate digestives,i drink tea strong enough to stand the spoon up in,drop of milk,no sugar, some decent coffee in the PI if you can find it,and I don't mean the sachets.
