Hi all, Good luck to everyone. We’re in a similar situation, we opted for A2 to be safe. I was shocked, I looked at the test availability in February and there were plenty of slots. We’ve just got back from visiting my wife’s family and the soonest test is 20th July and my wife’s BRP expires on 11th August... Does anyone have any idea of how long the process takes from application to decision for the FLR (spouse visa). Are we in hot water? Cheers,
As long as your application is submitted 'a reasonable amount of time' before the expiration of any existing Visa - and bearing in mind you can no longer submit paper evidence by post - you should be fine. Plus, there are the 'express decision' (if costly) options... Good luck - but you shouldn't need it for FLR!
As long as you have applied prior to the expiry of your previous visa your immigration status remains the same till a decision is made
hi where can i submit now those paper evidence? my flr m will be in 9 months. im nervous. is it difficult? same as spouse visa?
That's one thing I was unsure about... If using a UKVCAS Centre for scanning and submission of the application (i.e. not DIY'ing it from home), what would be the situation if there was no appointment available BEFORE the expiration of an existing Visa? Would UKVI still just 'extend' the existing Visa?
Paper evidence is no longer accepted - it has to be scanned (either at home or a UKVCAS Centre) and submitted electronically.
The way i see it you still apply on line and this generates a GWF number( this becomes the date of your application) you then trot down to the scanning centre and they scan all your supporting docs including the Barcode zgWF number from your application this produces a GWF number for the docs ECO opens your GWF application and electronically attached is your GWF docs number and your docs. The date you submit electronically your application is your date.this is key to do before visa runs out even if you cannot get an appointment for a week or more
I think I’ve made a boo-boo. My wife’s maiden name are still on the BRP and her passport....I read somewhere they have to be updated within three months of the change. Any thoughts or experience otherwise please?
My wife has yet to change her name on passport or BRP and she has been here since 2015 and we have been out of the country 5 or 6 times traveling in that period including the USA. As long as BRP anfdpassport names match there is no issues. Worry not The 3 month period you have read is if you change one for whatever reason you have 3 months to change the other.
Hi how much the scanning service in UKVCAS? also are they will be the one to send it after they scanned? i have scanner at home but im afraid i cannot send it all after scanning cause last time UKVI asked me for additional document i did that and tried to send it thru email address they gave but when sending it says files are too big so i posted the additional document before. is it the same in FLR M they will give you email address to where can we send those scan documents. im planning to use scanning service how much is it? thank you.
