Smacking children to be banned in Wales. Parents are to be banned from physically punishing children under legislation being introduced on Monday by the Welsh government. ... The law would remove the defence of “reasonable punishment” that has been in force since Victorian times in England and Wales.24 Mar 2019 https://www.theguardian.com/uk.../smacking-children-to-be-banned-in-wales
Smacking a child is illegal in England if it can be considered an offence under another law, for example child cruelty, wounding or grievous bodily harm. This might be where a child is left marked after being hit by an item such as a belt. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-...at-are-rules-parents-punishment-a8069436.html
yep aware of that was trying to be humorous but there you go! As a side not non of my children were ever smacked
There are lots of ways to discipline a child without the need to hit. I think times change and most people recognise that these days.
Well that depends. Parents of an autistic child, or ADS, may well disagree with your generalisation. And I am such a parent.
I strongly suggest you do not comment about subjects you have little or no idea about. And that's the polite version.
Personally, I'd even say more reason not to smack but that's just my opinion. And yes my children aren't autistic/ADS so haven't experienced that personally, though I know parents whose kids are and yes it is difficult for them to control their child on occasion.
Is this the same clown (wouldn't really describe him as a cyclist) almost getting squashed by a Merc?
