My fiance measured my ring finger when I was asleep then thought its like his pinky finger so when he bought the engagement ring in Japan, he struggled as each shops have different measurement. I still wear my ring even if its loose on my finger.

Like you Tim, he once told me he's not into wearing a wedding ring. Said he's not fond of wearing any accessories but once I raised my left eyebrow, he said he will.

Wedding ring shopping wasn't easy. We went to MOA and check shops each ring costs around 20-50k pesos. We decided we better purchase in UK in hoping we get a better deal and enough time to find it.

I just take the ring when she wasn't looking, put it on my finger, see how far it go and remember the exact place where it stops. After that picking the right size in the shop was easy. :)
And it fit perfectly on her finger. ;)

Question about wedding rings again. Is it okay if we'll just buy cheap rings here in the Philippines, around 2k pesos (equivalent to 20-30 pounds), then pass the receipts and photos as proofs in our application? Then we'll just buy really pretty rings (our real wedding rings) when I arrive in UK? My partner and i really want to buy the rings together, they're a bit important to us you see. :D

Can we do that? Do you guys think it would work?

The only problem with submitting receipts for rings that are so cheap is the fact that it will carry no weight as adding to the evidence that you will marry once in the UK. If you submit a receipt for rings for lets say £2k then that does, I'm sure you understand what I'm saying :)

Thank you for the advice timmers. Come to think of it you're correct. We'll just stick to our original plan to buy the rings we've picked already here in the Philippines. Thanks again. :)

Now I know why my Fiance bought my ring for this price yet when we were looking for wedding rings he wasn't approving for rings of the same price each. Haha

Your photo wearing the ring would be enough. No need to show the receipt if its not pricey. :)

thats what my wife said only recently--better gold in the philippines.

if it doesnt come with a UK hallmark--i wouldnt trust it. i worked for Johnson Matthey gold bullion dealers in the jewellery quarter in birmingham in the 60's.

Guess you mean 0.9 Carats as 9 would be huge !!
Recon .5 is nice size and ring sits nice on her finger.

    She's happy
