Be interesting to see how this pans out :ninja:
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 4)— A British national and his Filipina wife were kidnapped by unidentified armed men in Tukuran town, Zamboanga del Sur on Friday, local police said.

Tukuran Police Corporal Noriel Borromeo told CNN Philippines that Allan and Wilma Hyron were abducted around 7 p.m at a beach resort they own.

The couple also owns the Hyron College Philippines in the same town.

Local police said authorities are looking at “personal grudge” as one of the possible motives for the abduction. Search operations are ongoing, it added.

Not that far really from where my wife comes from. So many different Muslim rebel groups around that area.
He will be sold on to other groups very quickly.

I’m guessing it’s more about the money. He is certainly a well off foreigner, they own a private school/ university.

I wouldn't go that far south in Mindanao if you paid me, asking for trouble.

It's got a different feel to it than further north.

There is no way my wife would let me travel down to that area.

The southernmost city in the country is General Santos and it's reckoned to be quite safe.

No I’ve never been to Mindanao. I misread Zamboanga del Sur as Zamboanga which is further south than Davao. I knew someone who came from Zamboanga but never visited their place. Had I been asked I would have gone there.
