Mother Earth is the only winner. Less pollution, the planet can breathe again.

no--not a conspiracy theory: i dont mean which country -if any--deliberately engineered this.

what i mean is--what nation is best equipped to survive , recover and prosper afterwards ?

China, even though they were late to admit the problem when they did they did what they need to stamp it out, their biggest problem now is backflow, repatriated cases.

Their real problem is that much of their economy is dependent on exports, and a lot of their customers, namely us, will have their resources so depleted that purchases of fashion electronics and other fashion stuff like clothes is going to be depressed for quite a while, but they have been building their internal market for a number of years now and that will probably help them get over this better than we do.

The reality is that probably no one will be a net winner as the true reality is that the entire world is globally interconnected and dependant on each other already, the Global city already exists as can be seen by the spread of this virus.

I don't want to politicise this but all the international competition helps no one, we all need stuff that only comes from other parts of the world the idea that we can retreat into a comfortable cocoon where we can make all our own stuff is a fantasy, we are soon going to see exactly what the world starts to look like when all the borders are closed.

I think China will recover well just because it is a more controlled society and in this kind of circumstance that's probably an asset.

From a science viewpoint I'm pretty much played out there's not much else I can say about this thing or much more that I can usefully predict.

Coronavirus: Trump hopes US will shake off pandemic by Easter:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-52029546

Trump must be living in a delusional bubble
Or, even worse, he has decided to let hundreds of thousands die whilst their economy improves.

If he gets it wrong it will be millions dead in the US, maybe this crisis will help people of the USA wake up to the benefits of a caring society.

Trump only cares about Trump and his image he's never given a s**t for anyone that worked for him ever, it's quite sickening watching him spout this garbage, this is a real crisis and they need a real leader not a self centred narcissist who would likely happily throw his granny under a bus to protect his own future.

Well, you've heard a little bit of that from me, not all of it but some of it.

Still watching, I watched Netflix documentary on him a while ago, increased my respect for him enormously, never mind that I have to credit him for my entire career.

The USA needs a leader like Bill Gates who is the complete opposite to Trump.

The US has almost 70,000 confirmed cases - after an increase of more than 10,000 in one day

At least 1,050 people with the virus have died in the US

Another unwanted cruise ship - this is just off Punta Arenas near Tierra del Fuego.

Any news line about cruise ships nowadays seems to be linked to coronavirus - and this is no exception.

This time it's the Zaandam, a ship with more than 70 passengers reporting Covid-19 symptoms.

The ship left Buenos Aires on 7 March with around 1,800 people, and was heading for a port in Chile from where everyone would fly home.

But Chile didn't want to take the risk and said no. All other ports in the region did the same - and so the Zaandam is heading for Florida

What difference a month or two can make:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Residents in Sonora, Mexico - south of the US state of Arizona - have promised to block American traffic into Mexico for a second day amid fears that untested American travellers will spread Covid-19.

Donning face masks, the protesters held signs telling Americans to “stay at home”.

Mexico has less than 500 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, compared to 69,197 in the US.

This border is supposed to be closed - with the exception of “essential” business - but resident say there has been little enforcement and no testing by authorities.

I was trying to work out exactly what you meant Mike, but you literally mean 'cd ..' change directory to the parent :D

I think I'm a bit further down the ranking ;) more like cd ..\..\..\..\..\..\..\..\..\.. my tiny little bit of life's work stands on the shoulders of the many giants that built the world I playfully use every day as my job.

PC's were far more "hands-on" when DOS was necessary.

Is that photoshopped? The last time I saw that place it was a foetid foul smelling soup used to wash clothes, bathe in and defecate, the sea bed was a sludge of dirt, could it really have healed itself so quickly?

Looks authentic lots in Google about it! If it is right and progress has been made it's a must see on my trip in early 2021
