The new Dyson ventilator is being trialled in a hospital in the south of England. The first patient has been seen to be picking up quite nicely.
my wife really is a key worker. she is the manager of a care home. it is very short staffed. she often works every day sometimes 10 or more hours. if she--or i--get it..she will have to stay off work. the place will go into meltdown. i saw a news report of such a home in italy. police entered and found a number of the residents dead in bed.
I actually meant it on a more serious note. . There appears to be ambiguity surrounding the term. It has cropped up a lot, locally and here in our household.
Indeed, I for one am certainly not a key worker in the grand scheme of things but I am a 'key man' when it comes to the company I work for and the industry I am in.
Yes it isn’t straight forward. There is a company in the region that produces vitamins in the main and there is differing opinion as to whether it’s workers are key workers and the company is providing essential products. I am at home on 80% of my income right now.
hows this for sheer cheek. my wife is manager of a care home--a key worker. several staff are staying home to look after their kids--as they cant get a child minder ( wont pay more like ) anyway--the home is now understaffed--and desperate for staff. it has been advertised. 2 applicants, one who used to work there, but left to work in a restaurant, and is now on 80% as the place is closed down. both applicants were offered jobs. both have since declined the offer--saying the cant take the job because they would lose their 80%.
We are still a fully functioning business and should be until some of our customers start to fail to pay their bills so we are not using the government scheme at this point in time.
I read it as being serious but then thought I was losing my sense of humour when I saw two funny emojis as reactions.
Nah John set the tone when he opened with a smiley at the end of post #1. And post #3 was off the scale
