The man behind or rather in these vlogs is an American called Carson Moody. He is accompanied by his girlfriend in many of them. She is half Filipino and half Australian. She speaks very little in the way of Filipino languages. He is fluent in Cebuano and another (Hiligaynon?). Prior to vloggering he spent 2 years in the Philippines originally and obviously honed his language skills then. Most of if not all his videos tend to focus in outdoor pursuits in the provinces. He uses a drone for his photography and there are some great scenic shots of his.

My wife watches these on our new TV and they have led her to say she didn’t realise how fantastic the Philippines is having watched a number of them. I tend to agree with her but I am not shifting from the UK. :D

The opening of the second video is where they shot Thanos' retirement holiday home scenes at the end of Avengers Infinity war and during the killing of Thanos by Thor in act 1 of Endgame.

The kids and indeed the whole theatre whooped when they saw the Banaue rice terraces and surrounding country, James and Janna were so excited to see part of their country in a major international Superhero movie, earlier in Infinity war I had the pleasure of telling the kids that their mum had been to the place where the big fight between Thanos' people and Vision and Wanda occurred in Edinburgh and Waverley station :)

I really need to see Banaue before I pass away, indeed there is so much of the Philippines that I still need to see and that my kids should see.

I respect anyone who learns a foreign language, particularly when they get that good at it, language is a talent I sadly lack.

    I really want a drone but I am a bit scared :D

You wife seems to be very much a city girl I suspect many Filipinos are a bit in the dark about the beauty of their country.

Well she was brought up as a younger child in Valencia, Negros Oriental which of course is or was very much provincial. But yes, she tends to prefer the towns and cities.

Are you frightened of crashing a drone into an airliner or something?

Yeah a bit, but in Metro Manila there are so many cables hanging around all over the place very old fashioned public service system for power and communications, I would want to do some aerial shots of our subdivision and that would be dangerous amongst other things we are on the flightpath for the main runway at NAIA.

And it's expensive to crash these things, cameras I know how to look after, flying cameras are another matter, I had a colleague in Scotland he was a DBA (Database Administrator) a very specialised skill and well paid one for contractors but he was also a champion small scale helicopter pilot, model helicopters, these things were big and he was looking to build a photo business this is 20 years or more ago and he was looking at something big enough to carry an SLR, that guy had tremendous skill flying kit that he often built himself, drones make it easy but they probably also make it easy to screw up and there is always the possibility of injuring someone which you really do now want to do in the Philippines.

edit: I also can't justify the expense for a good one at this time :)

I hadn’t thought of the cables. And I don’t know much about these things but yes, expensive if ones investment went AWOL.

I guess these things stream the video back to the ground, I've never really looked into them.

We have watched a few now. And some others too that are now available from other bloggers ( they get a bit repetitive after a while though ) but this ones near Dumaguete @Jim

One we watched did a review of post cleanup Boracay. Nothing like this was really around when I first visited the Philippines. There seems to be a proliferation of vlogging material on the Philippines. Some of it very good.

I like that general area it is near the Marina and close to Star City, we might have been in that hotel once but just for a day visit, I vaguely remember it.

We lived just up the road in Ocampo street that was where I spent the larger part of my time in the early years.
