OMG! Visiting Philippines new rules! 2 weeks quarantine? If I want to visit my family for 3 weeks! Only 1 week left! Also, I only have British passport does it mean I cannot have visa upon arrival too?

Hope no one is thinking of visiting Negros. Some nuptys from Manila have been tested positive and had contact with folk from Dumaguete and surrounding towns. Looks like another lockdown.
Time to stockup on beer and tanduay.

So, in all, it took about 1 week, at the moment it's only for those married to a Philippines national.

    It cost me;

    £70 to have application notarised
    £28 postal order
    £15 postage (7.50 each way)

You'll need to complete the application form visa 9A.

    Required documents are:
Original passport and 1 photocopy of data page
    Marriage certificate
Proof of spouse's Filipino nationality (birth certificate won't be accepted, use photocopy of passport)
Bank statement with at least £1000
Proof of employment showing pay and entitlements
Proof of address (I sent gas bill even though my bank statement had my address)
Self addressed return envelope, stamped and tracked (cost me £7.50 at post office)

I will post again once I've booked my quarantine hotel, which needs to be at least 3 nights, where you will have to self isolate until you receive you're swab results which will get taken at immigration when you land

    Hi Nige,
The amount of money many of us have spent from first contact to our spouse getting a British passport is a pain in the posterior
I worked out my costs to be £15,000 but that included flights, visas, hotels, pasalubong and all paperwork o_Oo_Oo_O

Under current Philippine Covid rules there are no Visa Waivers on arrival so a 30 day stamp is not being issued on arrival, your husband will have to arrange a proper visa while in the UK.

You will also have to arrange a quarantine hotel on arrival in order to wait for the results of your Covid test on arrival.

The rules might have changed by April but the state of calamity is currently extended to September 2021 so you should really plan for that and get the visa.

Regards the quarantine hotel, you as a citizen will I think get release from the hotel on a negative test but I believe foreigners have to wait for paperwork a certificate from the DFA or other authority.

He will be able to get a visa no problem you just have to apply to the Philippine Embassy in London, he is allowed entry to the country because he is your husband, only foreigners with a work visa or family connections are allowed in at this time but they have to have a visa.

I would also add that even if you travel on your own under current rules you will have to have a quarantine hotel booked and will have to wait for your Covid test result before you can mix in the community.

They are testing everyone who arrives both native Filipino citizens and foreigners.
