I just let the landline ring and ring as it will only be nuisance calls.
If I occasionally forget, I ask myself why did I answer the bloody thing.

I do use on the very rare occasion and only when I have pre-arrange a time to receive a call.

Just turn off the ringer, that solves it, every so often do a 1471 to see who called if not recognised look it up on the net.

It is unplugged at the Sky hub and I connect it when I'm expecting a scheduled call.
What a mess our UK landlines are in - I saw this in the States also.

We don't have a landline plugged in,; normally get calls on my mobile but ignore numbers then call back if number is invalid or cannot receive incoming calls I block the number.

My landline is exclusively there for Broadband. Don't get many calls on that, mainly family, as I don't make calls on it.
My mobile I do exactly like you, but even after blocking the numbers, tho, somehow they manage to ring again.

Admittedly, they are getting less, and less.

I once had an industrial accident and had to claim.
Anyway I got this canvasser on and asked me about the accident I had! Told them it wasn't me that it was my grandson and I was with him( bear in mind I was sat waiting for a load to be finished) I said my grandson was only 2 and told a tale of how this roaring great big truck came hurtling down the high street looking out of control kept the tale going for 10 minutes or more eventually I answered the question what injury he had sustained what was the accident " well I said we have got him potty training but this roaring great truck had startled him he had an accident wetting his pants" after some colourful language the line went dead

i'm with talk talk--and they withdrew the free evening and weekend calls--and the anytime calls for a set monthly fee. so any call any time will cost a fortune. so its just for the fibre line.

ive just signed up again with tesco sim only--getting 5000 call minutes and 8gb..for less than i was paying for 250 mins and 250MB.

I am with "3". £17, or thereabouts a month gets me free everything, totally unlimited.
From time to time, when I am away, with no broadband available, or refusing to pay hotel charges and the smartphone is not large enough to go online for serious work, I turn on the WI-FI hotspot function and surf and work for hours at no cost and without fear of getting a huge bill for data at the end of the month.

I get a lot try it on instergram always the same M.O. will be a new account 1 or 2 photos and they will direct message you trying to get you to talk to them in in some other messenger app(instergram costs more in bandwidth ) they never usually like your photos.
Its not a dating app so just block anyone that tries it on :)

I had a similar call today. Not the same number or the same voice. Same scam my message though.

What I hate the most is when they call me and say, We heard you just had an accident! So I just play along and says Oh my God! How do you know? And she/he said We can help you with the claim. So I said it, Hang on a minute you haven’t let me finished, what I want to say is, how do you know I had an accident when I myself didn’t know I had an accident!:lol::lol:

I have been known to ask them very intrusive questions like "What are you wearing now, darling, you sound so adorable". Click.....silence...

Anti-Christian violence is horrendous these days. Bashing the bishop is just not cricket.

I had a monkey for a pet once. I never spanked the monkey.
