Just a partial update on our SS experience (so far)... Despite uploading all documents 10 days before being able to secure my wife's appointment for biometrics we received a message less than 24 hours before her appointment, to say some documents were not acceptable - apparently some information is too small to read! (Maybe SS don't know how to zoom a PDF ). We can either try to upload them again, or let SS scan them - for a fee! Ho hum...
at least it showed someone checked them. I had 2 rejected: 1 was the declaration i signed..but forgot to put our names on it. The other was an old passport--a bit blurred. I redid them within the time deadline.
from your link to sopra--" document scanning (included in an Enhanced Service Point or Premium Lounge appointment, or a mobile pop-up or VIP visit; may be purchased when attending a Core Service Point)
That's true... Update #2: Trying to re-upload the 'failed' documents and... the SS website is malfunctioning - How (in)convenient! I guess my wife will just have to ask them to scan/upload those documents for her tomorrow morning (& pay for the privilege).
Will be nice if it is @bigmac - I found out the 'document checking' service is included in the appointment fee (not clear at the time of booking the SS appointment!) if you self-upload, but it doesn't mention whether scanning/uploading any missing or poor quality documents is included? Will find out tomorrow.
i phoned SS--its included at enhanced service points. Wife took all the docs in with her just in case. Not needed--in and out in minutes.
As you said @bigmac scanning/uploading any missing or poor quality documents was included in the appointment fee. My wife was also in & out in minutes - plus we had an email to say all documents had been sent to UKVI, before we got home! Only downside, as appointment was on a Friday we will probably not get result until before close of business on Monday. Still, better than 'up to 8 weeks'.
Despite the last minute jitters - rejected documents etc - am pleased to report wife's Visa GRANTED, until April 2024, just 4 HOURS after her biometrics appointment this morning, despite UKVI website saying by end of next WORKING day (not expecting the result until Monday!). Happy days
Very good result..our reply took 2 days...first we knew was an email from courier saying brp would be delivered late morning !
