Vloggers in the Philippines

For anyone who is curious about visiting the Philippines (now that they are no longer in the "red zone"), or perhaps you may be thinking about emigrating there, let's put together some videos.

I will start with "Paul's Asian Adventure". He seems quite positive:

Quite positive in a lovely part of the Philippines it seems. I'd like some of these vloggers to travel around the Philippines and go to small barangays in the Provence.
How many brownouts were mentioned, zero. I had a 6 hour brownout on Sunday and another in the same evening, had another this morning. I'd love him to visit my house with 60 roosters at the back and some at the side.
Nice hearing them at 3 am and not forgetting the dogs continue to bark. Oh and my poor neighbor chopping wood up at 5 am for firewood.

True about the expats in there small groups complaining about stuff, I keep my self away from such like. I see many dead dogs in the street and beggars in the city, that's life over here. nearly 5 years here and still not use to the Ph way of life but I'm getting there.

Us members who live in the UK, are really privileged to be able to get first hand knowledge and ideas from you, Jim Our ideas about the Philippines are from the few times we have visited, when you wake up every day over there!
Some of our thoughts are influenced by our Filipino wives who are now in the UK.

Most v loggers paint a rosy picture far removed from reality I have just been sent some footage of a shootout in Davao this morning at a gas station

I'd expect Vloggers to paint a rosy picture, they're paid by views and who's going to continue watching depressing videos?

I do think a few Vloggers give insight into the problems.

Recently Finn Snow posted vlogs showing continuous brown outs and also the problems he had fixing the fuse box at his rented property. He lives a few miles from Dumaguete from what I understand.

Another couple have returned home as they're expecting. They mentioned the high health care costs as a consideration in the decision.

A lot of Vloggers seem to live in the NCR, so I'd assume less brown outs to the province? My experiences have been more brown outs when visiting the family in Albay, as well as Boracay. I don't recall many while in Manila.

I certainly agree that living there appears attractive when stuck in the daily commute, but in reality, it's not.

Doesn't stop me thinking about it though, but I'm probably still 20+ years from looking into it as a retirement move.

I do think living there full time would be difficult for many reasons.

Just like to add that the reason I have not posted in a week, because my internet provider (PLDT home fiber) took almost a week to resolve the problem of not having a connection.
Oh the joys of talking to robots with PLDT.

There's actually a term now, I can't remember it to be honest, but there's a term for westerners who go to the PI to vlog. The main audience are Filipinos themselves, a bit like the Pakistan western vloggers.

I actually said the vloggers don't show the true picture, Pinoys need global validation stick filipino/pinoy/Philippines in your titles Pinoys are going to hit it because they need to see foreigners reactions fake or otherwise to the PI.
