Just booked a flight in September, going to Davao via Singapore. Has anyone traveled with Singapore airlines before?
Never been to Singapore before, I'm intrigued to see how it looks. Got a 5 hour layover before the next flight.
I flew 2 legs with Singapore airlines back in 2019, Singapore to Manila and back very nice aircraft, food was great, Changi airport was pretty good I would fly with them again very good. Having just flown with KLM once more their standard of service and the overall flight experience has diminished quite a bit, seats are very poor now very thin, food is more limited than before no longer get a choice, I think a lot of airlines will have probably revised their levels of service in order to get through the last 3 years.
Hello David52, I used to fly with Singapore Airlines regularly in the 1990's. They were the best airline to fly with back then. I used to chat with many work mates and everyone agreed that they were the best. Even the air hostesses were very attractive; they look like fashion models. The food is wonderful and, as @oss said, Changi airport is great.
Prices of flying to the Philippines are currently going through the roof so to speak, the price of flying London to Davao return in October has held steady at around £750 for reasonable length flights of around 21/24 hours for a few months up until the past week, now there is nothing under a £1000 for that flying time, seems the price of fuel is having a big effect on flight costs in the months ahead, I just told Jan it looks like a fortnight in Cornwall if we can afford the fuel to get down there .
You certainly are not wrong. Just checked myself and there's nothing under £1000 going from UK to Davao in September. Good thing I got my ticket when the price was down.
Singapore Air is my preferred airline. They have decent flight times, best in flight entertainment and best on board crew, in my opinion. Changi is a great airport to stop at too. Last time we flew, my flight to Changi was delayed slightly and left minimal time to get my connection. Upon arrival was a member of staff in a golf buggy to drive us the gate of the awaiting flight. Have a safe journey
Changing has been voted best airport 2023. https://www.philstar.com/headlines/...st-airport-crown-philippines-not-top-100-list
FYI ..... there's a regular service between Davao - Singapore these days operated by Scoot Airlines, a Singapore Airline subsidiary Really low fares if you do a bit of date searching on their website
