With immediate effect, the forum known as the Dirty Kitchen is closed to all members who previously had access!

The decision to close this forum has not been taken lightly, but we now feel this facility has run its course. The Dirty Kitchen was available for members to have an almost unrestrictive posting policy within the confines of the Dirty Kitchen and were pretty much free to write or post whatever they wished. Sadly, some members have been having difficulty with understanding this boundary and have turned other topics in other forums into arguments, name calling and defamation.

This can no longer continue and will no longer be tolerated.

    A bit heavy handed, I feel :(

I thought the whole purpose was to get things off our chests?

I am gone for a while.......

    Good move, Kuya.

It's in the nature of Internet forums that whenever the moderator moderates, half a dozen people will say that their freedom of speech has just been infringed.

Fact is, the forum belongs to its owner, and is not a democracy.

Let's all try to play by Kuya's rules.

Well, I dont object on the grounds of lack of free speech. And I do believe that free speech should have its boundaries. Agreed Methersgate.

I can see the good point about the DK and the downside. I suppose ideally there shouldn't be the need for one.

    Agreed.

And an appreciation for the fact that we all have something to contribute.

I suppose its a bit like football. Does the club belong to the owner or the fans?

But Kuya runs a good one, undoubtedly.

If you didnt like the DK then you shouldnt have been in it the Idea was that members had to elect to join not be included then winge about it.

For my part Sean while I liked your post in Marks thread I unreservedly withdraw my assertion that you are a "true liberal" After you guys were banned from the dark side apo and I continued to walk a fine line in challenging Deadworth and his ilk Im a bit suprised to find 3 years on we find ourselves in the same position, but thats life.

I think we have arrived here because the pressure on you with work et al has meant a hands off approach on your part, no critism there however your admin team, from whats been said has mostly avoided getting involved appropriatly and cast you in the role of keeping the lid on.

I would have no problem with "keeping it civil" in the public forum being enforced by time outs or out right banning for persistent offenders that wont conform but now you have volte faced in the 12 hours between your P.M. post (which I found inspiring) to your closing the DK at the time, it is ,in my view most needed ,for those that choose to post there.

Since you didnt remember my part in its creation it is understandable you didnt feel the need to include me in your collective decision making process.

If you change your mind let me know untill then I will read but not post I will however answer P.M.s(without any conditions as to what you do with my message) I wish all our members every success with their lives and loves.

I see your point Keith, but it isnt worth withdrawing over....besides you have a lot to contribute and you are needed to maintain balance here. :D

I have no recollection of 'opting to join'. But I would have been unable to see or know the content until I had joined if it was a requirement to 'join'. When I saw the content I just chose to ignore it.

I feel somewhat left out of this. Anyone else who never knew we had a dirty kitchen?
