Some new changes to the way forum members get upgraded.

Most members are in a usergroup called “registered users”, this is the standard usergroup for people who post over 15 posts after they sign up (regardless of when they signed up). You will also see some users with the ribbon “Trusted Member”, this is for members who previously got upgraded after the admins or myself thought they had made a significant contribution to this forum, there is also the “Senior Member” usergroup and of course Administrators who have a “Staff Members” sign.

As of now, any registered member who has been a member for at least 3 months and makes at least 40 posts a month, that user will be upgraded to “Trusted Member” status, giving them access to some hidden stuff within this site. However, trusted members who are absent from the site will be downgraded again to “registered users”, but upon their return if they can make 40 posts over a month they will be upgraded again.

However, there are some members who will be given the rank of “Lifetime Member”. These have the same privileges as Trusted Members but they don’t expire regardless of time away from this site. A Lifetime Member has to make at least 1000 posts to the forum to be considered for this upgrade. There may be some exceptions if someone makes such a significant contribution to the forum that we feel this is deserved. And the founding members of this forum will all be included into this usergroup regardless of when they last posted or how often they post! Lifetime Members also need an avatar! If you don’t have one, we’ll choose one for you (laughs an evil laugh).

Finally, there is the Senior Member usergroup. This does not refer to age, but gives the user access to the whole forum – including the administrators section (where we discuss the future of the forum, upgrades, promotions and any changes). The Senior Members can add their input into planned changes (including changes that never happen because we decide not to go ahead). Access to this is only granted with the consent of the other admins (unless they are absent from the discussion), but anyone of them can veto the upgrade. And given how this usergroup gives such access, you can imagine those granted access will (in all likelyhood) be few and far between.

Just saying Dom. Its not something I want to get deeply involved in. I am happy to help but not in quite such an involved way.

It ain't you or Mark I am worried about, as personality clashes occur all the time and with the right management they can be overcome to a certain extent.
It is about somebody else that feels too good and superior.........
