The link below provides information on the upcoming Barrio Fiestas in the UK 2015.

We went to the one in Heaton Park last year, boots or wellingtons are a must if the event is being held in a park and its been raining :)

    Sounds like Glastonbury :D

Although to be honest my memories of Glastonbury are perhaps closer to the Battle of the Somme.

Really muddy, spoilt it somewhat, a pleasant sunny day would have made a world of difference for sure.

I'm sure that attending the Barrio Festival for some Filipinos is a great experience, especially if they are missing home, the Philippines comes to the UK, for a little while anyway :)

The Wife and I went to the Barrio fiesta very poorly attended this year I thought both my visitors and stalls. Not very many food stalls at all i think 4 maybe 5, mainly property sales and the usual others. From what it sounded like many waiting for the Hounslow Welcome to Asia festival, even some of the stall holders mentioned it.

Sounds pretty much like the one we went to a couple of years ago and decided never to bother with one again.

Maybe other people are also getting wise to the fact that it's rubbish.

Like having a rock festival but with adverts instead of bands. And worse food.

Would be a much better event if they charged a fiver to get in, got rid of all the condo pushers and put some proper entertainment on.

The change of venue has done quite a bit of damage to that particular Fiesta..
It is far too far to travel for many, and grossly inconvenient for others, Especially if one wants to pop in for only a few hours.

We used to go to Lampton park in Housnlow very regularly, but we only been to the new venue once, and won't go again. Too much hassle, too much dust, etc, etc,

This new Asia Festival, sounds very good to have a look at, but the dates clash with work, but look forward to hear other people's reports on it.

You made the right choice Sir it was roasting yesterday and I took a panoramic photo about 2.30 ish from near the LBC stall which was near the stage and it looked like it was a photo from far earlier in the day. We turned up around mid day and the car park we were in was hardly full most of the Staff were sitting around with little to do.

Whoever thought putting the premier fiesta (People travel from all over the country and indeed Europe to go to) outside of london with no ATM's on site yet a good (Long) walk to the nearest town must have been off their rocker.

Regardless of the quality of the food for many Pinoys and Pinays its a chance to eat things which hard to cook find the ingredients for if just one or a few of you want but the selection of stalls was very limited this time round in fact one of the food stalls was Thai nice food but limited.

I also noticed far more white groups (Walton upon Thames is a fairly white well off area) I felt sorry for them as they ended up at a show with little food (took ages to get served and hard to see the food unless at the front of the crowd) lots of stalls which of little interest to them with a stage show which meant little to them a fun fair but why was there no this traditional Philippine culture stage or area???

Sell the country to the affluent British walking around not make them think oh what a dull place its just one big estate agents!!

I think they will have to well they charge ten pounds to enter. But the fact its free does mean those who struggle to go (Many Pinoys and PInays I am sure pay a lot to travel to the show both in time off and transport) can go. I know many just go to e surrounded by fellow phills. The smells, the chatter and familiar faces.

But i would pay extra if it improved the entertainment :)

Judging from the reviews, we shall not be hoofing it across to one of these festivals in a hurry. No Barrio Fiestas here as such. We missed the last fiesta here a couple of months ago. There was a few food stalls selling Filipino food and it all got snapped up.

I think its not for us Brits to decide, my wife this year was dead set about not going a lot of her Mates (Some who can't drive/No car) had decided not to go as such an effort to go.
On Saturday the Wife decided the craving for some snacks was too much so she checked with a few friends many still were not fussed to go but a few others were happy for a lift there (I was half expecting to be a cab service with a couple of runs) but in the end we just had one run.
A Walton upon Thames Barrio fiesta at present is not what many Filpinas seem to think is their ideal day out (I.e the constant walk ups from Property sales teams or mobile credit sales person can get a bit tiresome, the relentless adverts and speeches from the stage) But for people where being alone/the house is empty is just having 5 people in the house its good to be surrounded by fellow Pinays those little interactions they miss, the community jokes when waiting in a queue.

For example today we didn't go to Fiesta but we still took a few over there and picked them up a couple of hours later as they had no other way of getting there. They were not impressed by the event, but still seemed happier when we picked them up.

I noticed there were a lot of Brit (and fair few Pinoy) Hubbys/sons who were picking up groups when we were, I guess Ten pounds for a carpark space is a little steep for a couple of hours.

At present we are not going to the welcome to Asia festival but some how I think may well end up in Lampton park at some point next weekend..
