Yes. One of my favourites. And there have been some great cover versions in recent times. I took my eldest daughter to listen to the Four Seasons performed in a church in central Manchester at Christmas a good few years back. It was fantastic.
"The 4 Seasons" has been my favourite piece of classic music since forever . I find Rick Wakeman's respectful documentary explanations on Vivaldis life and story very informative thank you for posting this link
As far as I can tell the Four Seasons is a very technically challenging set of pieces for a violinist. And hitting every note sweetly / in tune on a violin is a challenge too. A violin isn’t as easy to play as many instruments such as a guitar - no frets. So there is a lot more skill involved. Seemingly Vivaldi himself was a violinist. I had a listen to Nigel Kennedy playing the Four Seasons today. He seems to apply a more aggressive sort of approach but a lot of people like his style.
